It was the 4th time the referee had told Chelsea to hurry up and get the ball in play. It's not Palmer's job to referee the distance United players are from the corner.

He was telling Palmer they were good in his book and then Palmer multiple times refused to take the corner. It's basically an automatic yellow.

It also doesn't remotely matter, but he butchered stoppage time too.
