All three of those teams could win a trophy this season……Yet Chelsea, united and Newcastle cant buy a trophy…
AHL trophies surelyAll three of those teams could win a trophy this season……
Pep proved, or at the minimum he showed, this season he could not navigate out of a crisis without ample resources.Nope that’s a fallacy
AHL is flattering to the Conference League. ECHL at best.AHL trophies surely
I’d rather win a competition I’m in than not win it? And it’s worth recalling thatAHL is flattering to the Conference League. ECHL at best.
The funny thing is that when Chelsea win the conference League they are going to parade themselves as the only team to have won that along with the other ones like being in there as a badge of honor.
Most of this is completely falr. But it’s going to be some cringy merchI’d rather win a competition I’m in than not win it? And it’s worth recalling that
1. Chelsea are in the Conference League because of something entirely out of their control (Man U winning the FA Cup)
2. Every other ‘big’ EPL side sans Man City has - in recent memory - finished low enough to either be in the Conference League or not even qualify for it. They just did so before the competition existed
And re: “parading it around as the only team to have won all three”, it’s actually even better - if Chelsea win the Conference League, it’ll mean that they will have won all three European trophies just in the time since the opening whistle blew on Arsenal’s last major final.
Is it an indicator just as much of the club’s total volatility? Yeah, but if I’m there I’d rather win it than not, and it’s been a fun ride.
Peps impact on the game vastly trumps Klopp. It was never a comparison.Pep proved, or at the minimum he showed, this season he could not navigate out of a crisis without ample resources.
Come on. Its completely different to get a mid season nine figures stimulus check than to have a summer transfer window. This is not a good comparison. If you wanted to say LFC buying Virgil in January shot them to the UCL final, yeah I could see that, but Pep literally needed nine figures in Janaury to save his season. That's what happened this year.Peps impact on the game vastly trumps Klopp. It was never a comparison.
City’s season isn’t not unlike Liverpool under Klopp a couple seasons ago. Both needed to replenish their sides. City did in the winter and Klopp did in the summer
I didn’t argue against this tho.Come on. Its completely different to get a mid season nine figures stimulus check than to have a summer transfer window. This is not a good comparison. I think I saw an ESPN article that with the new formats if everything fell correctly with cup and continental results a team as low as 11th could actually make the conference league.8th place gets you a European spot? Haha ya, I’m here for it.
City actively try to not score goals. What exactly is the type of game plan to possess and slowly build up to a walk-in goal is a good idea? I still say Haaland hurts the team. Getting five touches does nothing. They basically play with 10-men squad.
Even the opposition parking their squad in itheir own end they are more dangerous on the rush. The rush... a great way to force quick thinking on defenders parts and create errors and openings a highly successful form of attack Peep doesn't like it because he can't 'control' the game. What good is false control of doing nothing for 90 minutes?
Foden clearly had a easy shot when his man went down and there was no foul in the first half, just outside the touch box, feigns the open shot and passes back.... I mean this is mad absolutely mad football this guy has his players literally afraid to shoot and do something other than pass back.
Then the inevitable scramble when they can't get a walk-in...
Utter trash football and just a dreadful watch.
It is really amazing how you can bankroll all this talent and not use it? I mean what players could actually want to come into this snails-pace type of build-up snooze-fest level pace of a football club.
The only reason I'd want them in the top-five is watch them get obliterated again next season as the pass back another 90 minutes with not one creative player on the squad (kdb out).
What also drives me mad is teams know how bad City defense is and still don't pressure them into cracking.... just bonkers all around.
Amen, but everyone says a trophy is a trophy.AHL trophies surely
