On the docket this week, we have a big 6 pointer for the Champions League when Newcastle hosts Chelsea. Of course, it is at the most inconvenient time for Americans. We also could see United (or Spurs) fall to 17th if West Ham wins at Old Trafford. Spurs, meanwhile, have a London derby, hosting Crystal Palace. A West Ham win and a Spurs loss would see Spurs 17th and United 16th, which is crazy, because one will be playing Champions League football next season.

Still Alisson, VVD, TAA, Salah, Jota etc. Also that wasn’t at home.
Yeah and it was still a guard of honor. Which is what you said the point was.

Either way it is true that players have literally been at the beach this week. I don’t think we are sending the job squad out but this is basically our second preseason game for next season at this point. Which is fine. Slot will probably just select who the sport scientists tell him to based on who is fit at this point.

Congrats to Southampton on not having the worst point total in Prem history!

There honestly should be a ten team mini league between the Prem and Championship that consists of just these yoyo clubs. After playing each other four times (36 game season) the top team graduates to the top division and the bottom team gets kicked to the Championship

A draw away at almost historically bad Southampton is definitely the cherry on top of the shit cake that was City's season. Galaxy brain Pep keeping his most dangerous player today on the bench until the 85th minute was chef's kiss

Watkins puts Villa ahead just before half time, after a stupid play by Semenyo who wanted to dribble the ball out of 4 opposing players in his own half.

Martinez is one of the few gks on Earth who can turn a foul at midfield into a yellow card for him lol

Doesn’t matter. Clearly the obituaries on him and city was misplaced to say the least.
Oh for sure. This was just very clearly a season from hell. I just think about Klopp in the Covid season when he ran out of defenders, and had a shallow squad that couldn’t run because everyone was just covering for each other out of position and no one could rest. Difference was Pep got nine figures in January, and Klopp got the wrong Ben Davies, and Ozan Kabak on loan.

When people compare Pep and Klopp, one of the arguments was always Klopp can do what Pep can do if he was on those teams, but we’ve never seen Pep do what Klopp could do. This year basically proved that.

Nope that’s a fallacy
