I think this game should be clear example that many LFC players won't cut it for next season. Quansah, Endo, Tsimikas, Elliott all given a chance to shine and they shit the bed.

All four of these teams are (probably) going to to be a cup final this month. At least two of these will (probably) be in UCL next year. One of these teams spent nine figures in January to get back on track

I don’t think the PL underachieved. If the 2nd best team gets knocked out by the 1st best team, I think that’s is very harsh to call it underachieving. And you can’t say “spent like crazy” if we are comparing to PSG

Hard to put a lot of stock into this because of the hangover, but none of the fringe players except maybe Endo did themselves any favors today. This was the worst Curtis Jones game I’ve ever seen

It's a meaningless match, first after they won the title, with a B team, against a club that still has something to play for. Silly to draw many conclusions from this.

Yes. I would even add Jones/Szoboszlai to the list. They are not fringe but they should perform better as the CAM position could be improved in the summer. Same with Jota/Nunez but that is more clear now that it will be improved.

Upgrading CAM is going to be tough because whoever they get has to do Salah’s running for him. Same with the forward. Szoboszlai and Diogo have been their top counter pressers all season. You can’t say probably tweak some stuff to make it work, but I doubt they are going to do anything that makes Salah defend more (and they probably shouldn’t). Jones is fine, and if he is your 4th or 5th best midfielder you can win a title. But he’s not a starting XI player (which is fine)

We walked the league and if you told me we were getting rid of five of our forwards, I wouldn’t even be mad if they were replaced correctly.

Darwin is the worst fit to what this team is trying to do. He is just so goofy. And like if he finds the right spot, he may hit but it’s never going to be for LFC.
