This says more about Arteta and Arsenal than it does about the other teams.
Nah, it's human nature. When Arsenal led the EPL before the World Cup break, they were in immense form. Not talking about "talent" here, but confidence, mentality, and psychology. That's the part you aren't calculating and honestly it is almost impossible to measure, but it was what made us win loads of games that season. It looked like we could have finished the season with two draws and one loss, almost impossible to stop. Then the World Cup happened, everyone went their separate ways and that entire form collapsed because of the long break. Then factor in we had bad depth at that time and when Saliba went down to injury, it was over. I would say that anybody who was in 1st place at that time, would have lost the EPL title regardless of if it was us, Man City, you lot, or Chelsea. World Cup would have messed up anybody at the top, it just sucked we were fighting against 115 Blitzkrig FC at that time on top of that as the best team in all of Europe.
Sophomore slump certainly can exist.
Every team gets found out, it's just the way it is.

I mean you also said teams need to evolve; which is correct. Arsenal has done the least amount of evolution.

I don't disagree, but our evolution is in the transfer market, not necessarily on the pitch. We tend to dominate almost every match we're in, which is what you want.

I mean if what you are watching every week, and at the end of the season is “what you want” then it’s all yours

I don’t think city will be dropping as many points
Probably not. They are going to be a team in transition too. They’ll probably be fine but we still need to see what they’d post-KDB plan looks like. Are they going to stick with the winger approach, and they going to go big on a 10? LFC and City will be the teams to watch this summer

Liverpool is in 1st because of being ridiculously healthy the entire year and playing against a manager's tactics for the first time.

Teams adjust big time, just look at Arsenal and Arteta. Two years ago, we killed it and no team knew how to set up against us. We would have won the EPL title if the corrupt world cup didn't start in the middle of the f***ing season and Saliba's back injury didn't kill the rest of the comeback. Over time, teams learned to play against us by loading two blocks of four and counterattacking. We haven't been the same since.

Scouts will get the book out on Liverpool and teams will adjust big time. LFC will win the title this year, but will have to evolve to keep it because Arsenal knows their problems and will spend money to fix it. Also, if Salah leaves, then that is a huge loss, even if they get Isak.
Teams will figure out how to play against Slot in his 2nd year because that always happens.

Arsenal did so well in 2022-2023 because Arteta had only been managing Arsenal for 1.5 years before then and then teams adjusted which led to Arsenal scoring more goals, conceding fewer goals, getting more points, being closer to the top of the table, and advancing further in the CL in the next year.

Sure, that makes sense.

Yeah I mean LFC isn’t immune to the possibility of a sophomore slump, but that post….oh boy

Fandom is truly fascinating, and it’s not one person or group of people only who do it, but it’s common for a rival to say things in an attenpt to take away joy from fans of the team that wins.

I just don’t understand how it’s misunderstood that a rivals bitterness only makes the sweet feeling of victory all the more sweet.

It wouldn't remotely surprise me for them to take a step back next year, but a simplistic "teams adjusted to Slot's tactics” won't really be the reason.

I'd more lean towards "Manchester City spent $349583495872394872 over the summer and Pep got things back on track and they just needed to hang onto top 4" as a reason why they don't win next year.

The things you mention could happen, but all are theoreticals and asking for a perfect constellation of such occurrences is not what it means to be favourites

The main difference (not the only one) is Liverpool's best player is having a career year and dragging them to a title with 45 G/A, while our best player has been injured for ~3 months and counting. And now we have even more injuries on top of it.

They deserve the title, but if they don't extend Salah then they are in for a world of hurt next year.
