If he goes it’s going to help them defensively, but they are still going to need to get a good RB to platoon with Bradley, and we are going to need to replace A LOT of chance creation. When Trent goes it’ll solve one problem but create another

They did a bit of the 4 2 4 kinda in pre season and early in one of the Cups to an extent. Trying it away to City is a different animal. Lack of Haaland meant that any cross wasn’t getting to a player in the box. I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the play against PSG away as well. With no striker in form, it solves that issue and the bodies in the midfield mean Liverpool can break up play and limit pace out wide. They’re gambling they can finish a break with Diaz and Salah, which in form, should be possible but they’re only going to get one or two clear chances. They got three today, one offside, one scored and one was marginally offside. It’s a recipe to win 1-0 or 2-0. If Jota was in form, I think it wouldn’t be the plan. They also gave Nunez two or three shots. Neither worked. Gakpo being fit and you might see Diaz in the middle again. I don’t know how much that is the plan over 90 until he’s fully fit.

Honestly you can say whatever you want but Slot is the goods. If that hasn’t been clear to this point, I don’t know what to tell people.

I think Slots prerogative the rest of the season is his starting XI is just going to be the guys that he trusts the most. I think you are spot on Gakpo is coming back in as soon as he is healthy, but honestly if we are going to be picking 11 from 12/13 the rest of the season you kind of see what group plays in what situation.

You probably want Diogo and Gakpo vs low block. You probably want Gakpo and Diaz if the game is going to be wide open. You probably what this line up against the City/PSG type games. I think you want Diaz and Diogo if the game is going to be intense (Gakpo too nice for Derby’s) Etc.

I have watched him for all his games at LFC since he first started, while he was never elite he looked interested, now he does not even care. He never was good defensively but it's getting obvious he now look even disinterested playing defense which is sad because this team could win a lot of trophies. He is just playing off his contract at this point and it's getting more obvious by the day but unlike VVD or Salah who are in similar fashion but they still care about the current team he seems to not even care about and he is the local boy. I think it speak a lot about his character and career goals. I don't think he cares that much about his LFC legacy.

Is there any update on contract talks for Salah, Van Dijk or Konate?

No. Nothing. Some people claimed that VVD and Salah have agreed a deal but nothing serious about it, just insane rumors on twitter.

As for Konaté. His dream/boyhood club is PSG so when I see they are interested in him. (If it's true), I feel there is good chance that he might move there in the summer but it also could just be tactics to get a better deal.
