His diagonals were glorious, but he had a few really bad giveaways which gave transition chances to Villa.

Gusto also had a bad clearance and a bad turnover in possession.

The cross was to Rashford who was onside, none of the offside players tried to play it.

This argument may make the tiniest bit of sense if Arsenal wasn't down 1-0 before MLS got sent off 73 mins into the game. It makes absolutely zero sense (maybe even negative sense) to suggest that Saka being out isn't a big deal when we started a front three of Trossard - Merino - Nwaneri. In case you are not aware, that's our backup LW, a CM, and a 17 year old midfielder playing across our attack. And our "best" option to bring on as a sub was Sterling, which I'll admit may not be entirely true only because I could make a strong case for a less than 100% healthy Ben White being a better attacker than Sterling right now.

Games are 90 minutes. They had almost 30 minutes to score after the red card. And again it’s not like the didn’t generate the chances to do so.

Acting like Joe Gomez is more important to Liverpool's defensive depth because they like to bring him on late to close out games would be like if I had said us losing Rob Holding was worse than you guys losing Salah.

Arsenal wasn’t regularly using Rob Holding as a late game defensive sub. Arsenal have also bought defenders since 2021 and have plenty of cover back there.

He had an open net provided by Kudus and did nothing but lose the ball.

He also got in the way of another of his own player when they were about to counter and it gave a prime chance to Trossard to shoot at the net straight from the middle. Overall it was not a good 10 minutes for a guy that was fresh of the bench like him.

You thought that ball played behind him was an open net? Kudus should have taken it to the net himself but played a terrible ball across.
