So now Premier League refs aren't calling shirt pulls anymore? When you couldn't think they could sink much lower ...

I can't wait till PL players try that shit in Europe and are then surprised when they are rightfully called for it! Have you ever tried running towards a ball while getting your shirt pulled from behind?

The shirt pull was legit, but it wasn’t near enough to send Young down, especially in the manner he went down.

Somehow a light pull on the shirt around the bottom of the ribcage cause both his legs to go backwards and shoot up into the air behind him?

The end result was consistent with the rest of the game. The ref had let a few of those short pulls go already without a pen.

Also regarding @AlanHUK ‘s post about VAR not showing the reverse angle to the ref, that’s not actually their job. They are supposed to review all the angles and determine if they believe a clear and obvious error happened. If so, they’re supposed to show the referee evidence of the clear and obvious error.

If the referee wants to see more angles, he’s totally allowed to ask, but VARs job isn’t to give him a complete picture, it’s to show him evidence that he got it wrong live.

Arsenal look so flat...
Hard to even be mad tbh. We have a bare bones front line and are largely relying on a 17 year old to create something. But at the same time we should be expecting to win this game, but created nothing and West Ham scored their only chance.

VARsenal getting out of a clear red there

Am I doing it right??
No, because VAR actually punishes us. LiVARpool would have come away with a penalty from that somehow.

Not to mention Kudus elbowed MLS, but they don't look at that.

If you're not gunna gruda burn in a match you're winning by 3 against a relegation team, give him to us. Will give him plenty of PT...we'll take ABK too while we're rescuing german kids from england

If that's a red in real time, fair enough.

But, for the umpteenth time about this stupid league, I don't see that as a "clear and obvious error". There's a pretty clean case for that as a yellow, based on Saliba making the coverage run. If you can empirically defend the call of a yellow, it shouldn't be overturned.

Always, never blame their indicispline and recklesness of their own players. It's easier to blame PGMOL and VAR.
LMAO you guys spent the last week complaining about calls from the Everton game. And you spent all of last year complaining about the Spurs game for months after it happened. But we're the conspiracy theorists?

I think they could have given a foul on Kudus there, but it was borderline. MLS clearly deserved a red for the tackle after that.

Raya being so far away from goal makes the difference for me.

Although I do agree the "clear and obvious error" standard is dumb. Sometimes its used to say "well the referee saw it and called it that way, so it's not a clear and obvious error" and then other times we get re-refereeing.

There we go again, Everton got favorable call but they still managed to grind a result and congrats to them, that's EPL the standard of the official is very poor (especially that Michael Oliver guy). LFC were still very poor and could have got the win. They put themselves in that situation especially TAA with the cross and Tsimikas at the back post for their goal at the end.

See not that hard to blame our own player. I do not need to cry over PGMOL or VAR.

Me: "MLS deserved a red card"

You: "There we go again...Not that hard to blame our own player. I do not need to cry over PGMOL or VAR."

I agree, though there's a better case for it here than with Saliba earlier in the season. But yes, they bend over backwards to justify a ref's original call all the time, so that should at least be consistent. And that's not whining, I don't think it particularly changed how this game was going to play out
