GWT: EPL - Matchweek 25 (ft. MW 15)

It’s all stupid. Game should have been over.

Point isn’t the worst result, but it’s beginning to look like there’s more than a bit to be concerned with. Liverpool weren’t running away with it, they’ve got a tough month coming up. 7 could be 2-3 in a couple weeks.

I thought the opposite. I thiught he was making sure he is using as much of VVD as he can to make him onside.
The goal itself was completely legit. No issue with that whatsoever. They checked for offsides and it wasn’t there which is also fair enough. The stoppage timekeeping was absolutely ridiculous game should have been over.

He couldn’t make it offside so then he moved on trying to find a foul that wasn’t there either.

Injury break between 93rd and 95th pretty much makes it 97. Give or take.

A Liverpool fan made a claim there was no contact. But I haven’t seen anything that shows that. A foul was given. Clearly the ref thought there was contact but just didn’t give the resulting yellow because well because David Coote said some things that hurt Liverpool’s feelings and they’ve needed coddling ever since.

You shouldn’t post when you’re this emotional. Maybe join Slot and Jones in a nice group whine.
Feel free to seek out an answer to your confusion before you continue digging this hole!

This thread has gone in a fascinatingly reactionary direction. It’s a 7 point lead over Arsenal who keeps having attackers drop like flies not the City of previous seasons. Chelsea already played their way out of a title race as have City and Newcastle. Liverpool will be fine

Yeah Arsenal right now have to start Sterling lol

I don’t know what you’re talking about with the emotional thing. I’m sitting in the optometrist with my eyes dilating

That explains a lot tbh.
You seem very confused there wasn’t a yellow given despite not even fully seeing the “foul.”
It can be your stance that there shouldn’t have been a foul called. That’s fine. You haven’t provided any support for that other than you claiming it, but that’s fine. Once it was called - and I don’t think you’re disputing it was called, although you continue to surpass all expectations - the referee has to act in accordance with his decision.

Right VAR was doing its job. They didn't find anything - fair play.

The Everton players were not down that long, and either way they ran into each other and got Fergie time because of it. Its not like it was because of time wasting either, two guys ran into each other. And also what no one else has mentioned is LFC didn't;t get any time back from the VAR reviews either. It was a wretched, indefensible timekeeping. Oliver gave Everton two goals today and the league got the viral moment it wanted. Whatever. Its a terrible result but no one else is going to be particularly upset.

I don't know man. Goals are already hard to come by for Arsenal as is and now Havertz is out for the year.
This might sound radical, but the season was lost when they didn't buy Osimhen back in summer. Just a bunch of hopes and prayers from us to get all those goals and Kai turning into a 20-15 player. We could have even just got Muani on a loan a couple of weeks ago.

Nice to have LFC get a taste of their own medicine.
Not really sure how its their own medicine? It's just another terrible Michael Oliver performance that as we know can happen to anyone. This is absolutely not a Liverpool thing.

So do we now care that Jota, Diaz, Chiesa, and Nunez couldn't create a half decent chance against the worst defense in the history of the Championship
Yes. This 100% makes the Plymouth result worse.

I agree, but that terrible performance kept Liverpool in the match.
That terrible performance gave Everton two goals

Getting a fluke 85+ minute goal for a result is LFC's DNA.
I mean if we are getting fluke goals at let’s they are coming within the allotted time. Not this Fergie time garbage, where Everton got rewarded for two players running into each other.

Like if they had tacked on time because LFC was time wasting, that’s one thing. That’s not what happened today

1. I don't know why it coming from the Everton players colliding would be relevant - an injury stoppage is an injury stoppage, regardless of the origin, and it's not as if Everton had any sort of incentive to be timewasting when down 2-1 in the biggest home game they've had in years.
2. If I were an Arsenal fan I simply would shut the f*** up about "basketball" when talking about games involving Liverpool, lest images of profoundly obvious and yet missed penalty calls be posted.

lol they did everything possible to call off that last goal.
Yes - VAR did its job and didn’t find anything. No one has a problem with the goal.
That terrible performance kept Liverpool at 11 men and allowed Konate to play basketball.
This didn’t happen. They looked and cleared instantly. If you want to watch basketball highlights go look at Odegaard at Anfield last year.

“Terrible performances “ can happen in a Derby, especially when it’s the home team’s cup final and there’s the all mighty narrative. LFC wasn’t great today but that doesn’t change that Oliver gave Everton two goals

1. You have it opposite. I am saying it would be easier for the LFC fans to digest if they were punished for time wasting. Theoretically, LFC would have had the incentive to waste time. Everton doesn’t figure into that. The injury stoppage did not equate to the extra time that was given. If you want to get out the stopwatch be my guest, but even so,l the game should have been over. Everton should not have been awarded the Fergie time. That’s it.

If you want to punish LFC for time wasting, I can live with it. Rewarding Everton because two players ran into each other is not the same as that

Thank you

Arsenal fans have had to hear about it, why shouldn’t Liverpool fans?

Of course they cleared instantly. The Coote tax had to be paid. Those of us with eyes saw Konate claw it back. As for Odegaard, it didn’t happen. They looked and cleared instantly.

Oh it’s the cup final excuse. That’s an original one.

They’re not rewarding Everton. You have an absurd concept of what stoppage time is actually used for.
