You know, you could have just said: "You know, I was dumb, I thought that Hutson was overrated by the Montréal fanbase and the fact that he's like 5'6" was going to stop him, but it seems that it's not the case. What a machine."
Why would I lie to promote your false narrative?

I know how tall Hutson is and that the majority of Hab fans are reasonable hockey fans and have had Hutson firmly in the top 2 of my Calder ballot since the beginning of the year.

Instead of acting like you are

I am disappointed in you, son
Man I'm probably older than you are and stick to your humorous posts, your serious ones lack gravitas.

It would not be a lie, it would have give you an air of humility
Instead, you look like someone ready to die on a ridiculous Hill

Smith has been great, but still not nearly as impactful as Celebrini has been. Points aren't everything. Smith has gotten better at this but he's still not remotely close to as dangerous and successful at board battles, 50/50 pucks, forechecking, etc, as Celebrini. Those details are really what makes Celebrini such a special player, so that isn't a knock on Smith.

Something's happened within Smith and he;s playing with much more confidence in his creativity. It's great he's figured out that part of being a young pro
You guys are set up with your 1/2 punch for years to come.

Bedard literally won the Calder just last year....
I'm being sarcastic since this the exact same shit trolls in this thread have been saying about Hutson. I love Celebrini, he's one my my favourite players in the NHL. He's gonna be a top 5 center in the league very soon. A couple of bad plays doesn't make you a bad defender.

He probably didn't want to offend Matheson.
The reason is a lot simpler.

Hutson started the season a lot more sheltered. He was paired with more experienced players, he was given a bit better matchups. He was eased into the NHL a bit so he could get used to NHL systems, NHL speed, and NHL opposition. At 20, he was being given so many new responsibilities and giving him the pressure of PP1 duties on top of that would have been a lot.

What's amazing is that it only took 22 games to take those training wheels off, for him to be a lot less sheltered.

He was doubtful for game one, so just another game or two at most I'd imagine.

As for Stankoven, Dallas had the 3rd most goals scored in the league last season. They've brought back most of that offense and there's no reason to think this year they will regress. Stankoven had 30 total minutes of PP time last season. Tonight he had 2:14. If he averages over 2 minutes per game he'll 5x that this season.

He's the one rookie in the best position to excel due to the quality of the team he plays for. He's obviously not going to continue picking up 3 points a night but yeah, 60+ points is very attainable, which will be 10+ points more than everyone else, just like Bedard last season.
I'll own it. I was wrong. He went ice cold for two months and blew it. I still think he's going to be a good player and wish him all the best in Carolina but you can't basically go 0fer for 30 games in a season and win any scoring award and that's what he did.

He'd get in great positions, win pucks and shoot right into the goaltender's belly. He was absolutely snake bitten.

His fellow rookie Bourque was basically invisible in the first half of the season but has gotten better being about .5 pt/gm in the last 30ish games. That happens with most rookies. Both have proven they are not currently the best in their class. Both will be solid NHLers but neither is a star. Most players aren't.

So here's my mea culpa. I had way too much faith that'd he be solid on a great offensive team and pick up points. Stankoven didn't and the results show that.
