IMO the top two players of this crop are Michkov and Celebrini. Think both with be staples of their national teams for years to come.

Hutson's offensive production is great but too reliant on PP assists for production imo. The award goes to the best player and it is a two man race.

Also think Wolf has established himself as a starter in the league but I generally have a hard time getting around the idea of giving a goalie the award unless they are putting up phenomenal numbers.

In the end I think Celebrini should get it but the reduced GP will probably lower his votes.

Lmao he has more even strength assists than both Michkov and Celebrini. Him being a better power play producer on top of that is not a negative. Mental gymnastics at their finest. And you flopped on your face with them 😂

You hate montreal so much.

Jfc. I don’t find these discussions with you enjoyable at all.

Wolf will not beat out Hutson, celebrini, and maybe not even michkov

Have a great day
Dude is absolutely livid because he secretly feels like Hutson’s success took some of the shine off his golden boy’s own rookie season. That’s literally his entire problem with Hutson. It’s so obvious too 😂

Legit no clue why it's so popular to hate Hutson in this thread. So many pathetic takes that keep falling flat on their face: "look at this +/-", "he can't defend at all", "he's a pp merchant", "he's ceiling is a 2nd pairing D".....

Reality is he's a #1 D playing 25+ mins night for a team fighting for a playoff spot and has been the best player during that time.

We all know why.

Dude.. your whole PP assists argument is so completely bonkers. At the 68 games mark, Hutson had two more ES points than Hughes in his own rookie season, which was 68 games.

Your argument shows an ignorance of how dmen typically get their points. Hutson is tied for 11th for most ES points among all dmen this season, as a rookie. Historically, he's 7 ES points from the rookie defenseman record (33 vs 40). He's already top 10 all-time for rookie dman ES points. He's 3 ES points away from the all-time top 4 for rookie dmen.

Dmen typically get around 40% to 50% of their points on the PP. The all time leader for rookie dman points, Larry Murphy, had 40 of his 76 points at ES (52.6% ES pts). Hutson has 33 ES pts and 23 PP pts (58.9% ES pts).

Next time do yourself a favor and peruse a few dozen pages of a long standing thread, before coming in and thinking your grand argument hasn't been already thoroughly debunked.

Hutson has 11 games to go and:

-He is already tied for top 10 all-time for rookie dman points

-He is already tied for top 10 all-time rookie dman ES points

-He is already #3 all-time for rookie dman assists and needs 5 to become #2 all-time, and needs 9 in 11 games to tie the record.

You can delude yourself all you want, many voters will actually have a much different perspective than you.

#1 Murphy 76 pts / 40 ES pts, 52.6% ESP
#2 Leetch 71 pts / 36 ES pts, 50.7%
#3 Suter 68 pts / 28 ES pts, 41.2%
#4 Housley 66 pts / 32 ES pts, 48.5%
#5 Bourque 65 pts / 36 ES pts, 55.4%
#6 Chelios 64 pts / 28 ES pts, 43.8%
#7 Beck 60 pts / 35 ES pts, 58.3%
#8 Larson 60 pts / 27 ES pts, 45%
#9 Lidstrom 60 pts / 28 ES pts, 46.7%
#10 Hutson 56 pts / 33 ES pts, 58.9%

Hutson will actually probably finish with the highest % of ES pts in the all-time top 10 for rookie dman points.

Give your head a shake 😂
