FYI, Hutson has been playing with Struble (7D) on his off-side at least since the 4 nations break if not longer. It makes what he's doing even more impressive.

He's a lot better and more skillful as a LD (his natural position).
It is amazing that he’s playing on his off side and being so productive. Great game from him tonight. Dustin Wolf was the star but Hutson was terrific.

Now you are just making stuff up, like get serious.

I checked and you are using puckpedia then forgetting to think, like the 3rd line player Konecky leads the team in scoring and all forwards with 16:44 ES TOI?

If Cates is their 1C, then his line is 1st. You can check tonight's game. Cates is 21:24, Foerster is 20:36. It's 1st line minutes. Oh, and they have Ristolainen as their 1st PP QB, seriously.

Not necessarily. Suzuki has arguably been our most valuable player. Does that make his season more impressive than Connor McDavids, who is the second most valuable oiler after Draisatl?

Or a case could be made for Hutson being our MVP. Does that put his season above Cale Makars, who may or may not be the most valuable player on Colorado with Nate Mackinnon?
Why are you discussing those players when none of them are rookies?

One outlier game doesn't make a season does it?

the reach here is like

The rookie who is most valuable to their team is the rookie who had the best season. Whether that team finishes first, last, or had to break a tie to get into the playoffs, it's the same player.

Since I'm a Flames fan... this is how Wolf stacks up against all goalies with 15+ GP
  • .915 SV%, 5th
  • 22 Wins, T-11th (T-21st in GP)
  • 4 Shutouts, T-11th (9 goalies are T-2nd w/ 4)
  • 9th in Goals Saved Above Expected (per moneypuck)

They have Cates as their 1C, and Foerester - Cates - Brink as their 1st line. Their best goalie is 0.889%, their backup is 0.885%. They have just 4 players above 0.5 PPG, and the 4th is Couturier with 31 points in 61 games. Now compare this to Sharks...
I don't think referencing goaltending really sells your point when Alex Georgiev has a 876%.

What a great rookie class.
4 guys running away with it.

I would give it to Wolf, because his impact for the team is imo the biggest.
But all 3 skaters look like candidates for the hall of fame one day.

Can't remember a rookie class with 4 such high end players at all positions.

Fair points but the finalists right now would be Celebrini, Hutson and Wolf IMO and barring injuries I doubt this will change.
