he got the deflection and it was as good a chance as was possible to get given the placement of it.

First time watching Hutson live tonight and he didn’t stand out as much as I thought he would. He looks like he belongs and had one or two cheeky plays, but I was expecting a bit more based on what I’ve read about him.

Sharks certainly tried to give him as many power play opportunities as possible. SMH.

I mean, if we're being fair, so does Wolf. I love the Flames, but like, we're regularly running Daniil Miromanov,Jake Bean, Tyson Barrie, and Joel Hanley rotating into our top 4 defenseman.

Honestly, it's still likely that that's the split. Shame Wolf had a rough game,

I mean, if we're being fair, so does Wolf. I love the Flames, but like, we're regularly running Daniil Miromanov,Jake Bean, Tyson Barrie, and Joel Hanley rotating into our top 4 defenseman. Pachal is a good 3rd pair guy, and Weegar/Andersson are the only other D-Men on the team that should be seeing regular ice-time (you can include Bahl to that when he's healthy as well). Most of us are pretty sure half our AHL team would be better options than what we've regularly been seeing. And our forwards, while exciting to see some of the younger guys get time and develop, are struggling hard to score (I'd be surprised if we had more than 6 players this season get 30+ points. Only 5 are a lock, and Sharangovich if he keeps up this hot streak will likely make it. That's about it. Not counting Frost or Farabee who will play like 30 games with the Flames this year and both have a chance to make it as well). Wolf is the only reason we aren't a bottom 5 team in the league (which sucks because no high pick that could have been used on a potential 1C that we don't have in our system or on our team, but I'm never gonna be mad that we have a young guy coming in and doing well).

Not make this a D-measuring contest (to see whose is smaller), but compare the Flames’ second best defenseman to the Sharks’ second best (Ferraro?). The Flames don’t have it so bad.

He's been more quiet in his last 5 or so games. He's also forced to be a little more defensively aware when paired with Matheson. Hopefully the point he recorded gets him going again.

Btw, Celebrini and Schaefer is going to be scary. I'm jealous.

Dustin Wolf had a bad game last night against the Leafs. It happens.
Calgary really does need a better defence though. Rasmus Andersson and Mackenzie Weegar just aren't enough. The other 4 guys on D are at best, 3rd pairing guys if that.
Tomorrow night's game against the Avs will another good test for the team and Wolf.

Well then its a good thing Celebrini doesn't have to worry too much about keeping the puck out of his own net, unlike Wolf.... because his -21, one of the worst +/- on the team, shows he's not that good at it.

It is, from the perspective that the poster you replied to had predicted “…..a 22-8 game split between Wolf and Vladar.” - the very same numbers in Wolf’s .828 save % from tonight’s game.

What I did find interesting is that the results from tonight with the 3 front-runners in action lined out just as the recently posted Vegas odds suggested: Celebrini > Hutson > Wolf.

Celebrini is closing the gap on that scoring race and with Hutson going cold offensively the past half dozen games is looking like a clear favourite to win

Wolf likely won’t start 50 games and that’s going to hurt him

I too don't see a no doubter top ten NHLer out of this guy.

I believe he'll have a few more cold spells this season and won't be in record territory by the end of it.

Celebrini on the other hand seems to have all the potential in the world. I could see this guy pushing for trophies in his career.

Wolf is a guy that has never gotten any real hype despite his outstanding numbers in amateur hockey and the AHL. He's small for a goalie, but he's proving it at the NHL level in real time. His AHL stats show like he could be one of the best in the NHL for a long while.

Maybe because he's 18 playing top line center on the worst team in the league? It would be absurd if he had a good +/- on this sharks team.
