Epic Calder Race 2024-25

The question ain't about if Hutson will Win or not the Calder;

The real question is: aside of winning the Calder, will he also be nominated for either the Norris and/or the Hart?

I'll chime in every so often to just say this race is exciting as hell.

But this thread has fallen off a f***ing cliff

I think it's incredible that his point production is increasing as the season wears on. He has a shot at 70 points the way he's going.

And as much as I think he probably is going to win, there's so much hockey left. Celebrini, Michkov and Wolf are all having great seasons. Any one of them could have a strong second half and this is a different conversation. It's gonna be a tight race. I don't think anyone will run away with it.

Anything could happen, but I don't see Hutson slowing down one bit.

I think it's a close race with perhaps a slight edge to Hutson at the moment. Though, there is a lot of hockey left and it could change significantly in the next 25-30 games.

Some of my fellow Habs fans are hardcore homers but this is the correct answer.

Honestly, what Celebrini is doing is hella impressive too. However, one thing that irks me is that draft reputation/pedigree seems to be playing into the mix.

So if Rookie Hutson > Prime Karlsson, as you said earlier, AND you don't see Hutson slowing down, can you that you think Hutson will be the best defenseman of all time? Because that's basically what you're implying.

Since when is Erik 'no defense' Karlsson the best defenseman of all time

I get that his takes are a little over the top but Hutson is something really special and honestly, he could be right for the Karlsson thing.

Karlsson was awful defensively and Hutson is a stud both side of the puck so it's not a good comparable anyway.

Back to the Calder race : Wolf deserves so much more love here. 3 group right now :

I didn't say that. That poster said Hutson was already better than Karlsson with hutson not "slowing down one bit", which is a ridiculous statement about his trajectory. I'm just pointing out to that poster how absurd his claim his.

It needs to be put out of its misery. Hutson is doing great but you can really tell how scarce elite talent has been in Montreal because every time we finally get a bit, we go way overboard.

Calling them out doesn't work. For now on i obviously think rookie Hutson> Prime Karlsson because one of of my fellow Habs fan posted it. That's the annoying part of these board but don't worry i'll deal with it hehe
