Man Celibrini looks so good. Think in the end the missed games aren't going to matter. If voting today though, Wolf would have to be the guy
If he stays healthy hell def be a Finalist at seasons end.

I think

Stankoven, Michkov and Celebrini will be the finalist... Wolf will keep it interesting

Hutson will prob stick around, and recieve some top 3 votes at seasons end.

I think a guy like Gauthier as the season goes on and he starts getting more mins/trust... will start to flirt with the top guys also.

Best race in a few years.

Stankoven, Michkov, Hutson, Wolf, Celebrini all very legitimate candidates

Wolf has to be the front-runner at the moment

I also like Gauthier to sneak into consideration. Ducks are going to get better as year goes on and a volume shooter like Cutter will inevitably have a hot streak

Wolf is impressive.

Lots of hockey left. Outside of Stankoven, Wolf, Michkov, Celebrini will likely see others emerge in the Calder race.

fantastic race this year with many legit contenders (at different positions too!).

Bodes well for the league's talent quality as we lose some big names to retirement in the coming years

Stankoven’s earned exposure to PP#1 is going to pay off because Hintz, Heiskanen and Robertson are overdue to explode. Michkov just doesn’t have.

Stankoven is not on a powerplay unit with those guys

Ultimately Stankoven's chances at the Calder will actually be hurt by the fact the Stars are a deep team. Michkov will get all the prime opportunities he needs, while the Stars have plenty of options which means other guys will take priority over Stankoven. He's essentially got 15 points in 19 games on the 3rd line/2nd PP (only 3 PP points too). Averaging almost a full 2 minutes less a game TOI than Michkov

Side effect of being on a good/deep team. Oh well

If you forced me to bet I would bet on Michkov. It will be close with a bunch of great rookies no doubt.

You mean playing on the 3rd line with Philadelphia scrubs? Yeah, really great opportunities. And Torts' hockey adds +100 to those opportunities...

That Dallas powerplay is over due for a market correction. 22nd best it is not or shouldn't be. I'm sure we will have a dig about Stank being the reason its only 22nd best but that's not accurate. There is a flood of conversions coming. Funny enough the Flyers are two spots ahead at #19...must be Michkov helping them out (of course).

He's on the Duchene unit currently. He and Johnston swapped

That "top" unit has been so bad though, it's not the advantage anyone thinks it is

I don't see Torts really holding him back. Plenty of ice time, OT time, PP time, etc. Who does he play with on the PP where most of his points come? Konecny?

Just PP and OT time won't win you Calder. You need to score ES points, and all forwards who've been playing with Michkov save TK suck this season. Of course there is a chance Frost will get his head out of ass and start playing as he can, and the same about Foerster or Tippet or anybody else, but the further the less I believe in such miracle.

Everyone knows Wolf will come down to earth soon
They've been saying that about Wolf since he was drafted.

I don't think he'll sustain these numbers (I do think he will finish .910-.920), but if I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet against him either.

This is a kid that has won goalie of the year 4 of the last 5 seasons he's played, while essentially being the best young goalie in WHL and AHL history

The way I see it, I wouldn’t be confident enough to bet on Wolf winning the Calder but with his track record I definitely wouldn’t bet against him.

It's a fun four way race between Wolf, Michkov, Stank, and Hutson.

It'll really come down to who can stay healthy and who can sustain their play for the entire season.

Wolf would be my front runner right now, Hutson and Michkov the 2 and 3, but I wouldn't be upset to see any of them win in the end.

If Wolf can put up Vezina contention numbers I don't see how you cannot vote for him to win the Calder. That would be a remarkable feat for a rookie.
Frankly its quite unusual for a rookie goalie to even get to play enough games in a season to be considered a contender for the Vezina, even with great stats. Rarely do you see a rookie goalie that isn't playing in tandem with an established #1 who would play the majority of the games in the season.
