the calder is setting up for a massive head-to-head, like when Hughes-Makar battled. Bodes well for both player's future. I cheer for Michkov, but it is pretty easy to see how talented Celebrini is.

So. Anyone proclaiming the battle is mostly over, you'll clearly just have to wait until the very end of the season! Cheers...

P.S. And yes, it's a relevant award

Lane Hutson is right there with those 2 - I legitimately have it as a dead even draw between the 3 atm.

Fair enough, though I highly doubt it’s that way with the voters.

A lot of time to change their minds, has 11 points in his last 10 games and that happens to coincide with the return of Laine + getting PP1 minutes - he's going to finish with a gaudy point total, 60+ would definitely sway a lot of voters minds imo

Then again he benefits from Laine, Celebrini is doing lifting himself.

Not taking away from Celebrini, he's incredible in his own right.

There's just 3 very, very good options that in most years would be run away favorites - it just so happens that they're all competing against each other for the award, and only 1 can take it.

Hutson's standing also depends a lot on the Habs getting better. He won't be a serious contender for the Calder even with 60 points if he is also -37 which is his pace.

Still have it going to Michkov, but Celebrini is almost caught up and Hutson getting PP1 time from now on will definitely give him a chance to get a ton of points.

Celebrini is the vastly superior all around player right now. Not sure what everyone here means by “keeping pace” and “catching up”. You have a kid who is dominant all over the rink vs two guys who are still figuring out their overall game. Celebrini my a mile right now, and I rate Michkov about as high as anyone on these boards.

Celebrini looks like a player who is going to be in the Hart conversation as soon as next season.
