If you haven’t already, check out the Athletic article about him. He does acknowledge that he gets too invested during the broadcast, specifically mentioning the Svech/OV KO commentary.

Tripp is Tripp. He’s annoying at times, hilarious at others (unintentionally or otherwise), but I think what finally turned me around on him is the fact that he’s genuine. He’s not putting on a persona during broadcasts.

He’s genuinely happy to talk about what food Player A ate last night, or the time he and Player B spent two nights stuck in a sauna, regardless of whether either of those things have anything to do with what’s going on on the ice.

Tripp is a state treasure. There's no doubt about that. I still enjoy Tripp for who he is.

Just saw a short clip on Justin Williams on Rogers Hometown, Cobourg, Ontario.
I think he's been training hard to be playing for the 'Canes soon.
He looks in good shape. Nice addition for the 'Canes!!
