I saw almost happen once too at a Coyotes game (incidentally, it was against the Capitals). The puck actually did go into the net, which would have been a goal for the Coyotes, so the fans in the arena started cheering. However, the officials decided after the fact that it wasn't going to count for a reason I don't remember exactly, but it was something like that a Coyotes player was the cause of it (whether directly or indirectly, I don't know).
