GDT: ENEMIES OF JERKDOM IN RALEIGH STILL HAVEN'T LEFT

This is a great troll job (like Canes marketing of old):

I'm not saying never, but wasn't Knies on record saying he wouldn't be interested in signing an offer sheet? Knies is great and all but let's use some cap/assets for a 2C. I would be shocked if Toronto doesn't re-sign him.
True plus I’d think Canadian Tire and other Leaf focused Corporations will provide lots of off ice $$$$$

I don't really want to play the offer sheet game but if we were going to for Knies I'd do 1 year $9.35M for 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks. Leafs could have a really tough time matching that and not sure it'd be possible if they keep Marner and especially not if they keep Tavares too. We'd have to negotiate a lower longer term deal though ahead of time like we did with Koko. Obviously risk there that he could renege and we're stuck with high cap hit on QO or him going to UFA. Which is why I'd prefer not to do it. I don't think we could successfully pull any top tier RFAs on long term deals without both overpaying in picks via offersheet and overpaying on the contract to make it so a team wouldn't match. Hence why I don't want to play the offer sheet game.
Leafs match 1 year 9.35 in a heartbeat. You’d have to go something crazy like 1 year 15 million to really jam them up

That was a good game. Probably not quite as good as game 1 or game 3 were for us, but we still showed we are the better team. I thought Burns was great defensively. The whole team was playing well offensively. I love the fact that all the lines and D pairings are showing up on the scoresheet. This isn't a team that's relying on the Aho line to produce all its offense. Everyone shows up. Sure, Aho+Svech+Jarvis score more than the others, yes. But this year's Canes feel like a team that the top line can get shut down and we can still find ways to win.

Also I think both goalies have been about as good as can be expected. Logan Thompson maybe could have had some of them, but he was under assault for large portions of the night. It seems that the Hurricanes are cleaning up rebounds and moving it out of our zone much better than the Capitals, and such Logan can hardly get a breath on some shifts. I think that can wear on a goalie over a series, so maybe game 1 was hugely important for us to cause attrition. The boys did the best job in game 4 of getting screens and causing movement in front of Thompson as well.

Isn't Peterka eligible for an OS?

I'd take him over Knies and he'd probably be an easier target to get to sign than Knies.

I can imagine Peterka wants to see the playoffs in the next 5 years.

TOI for both rosters through Game 4. Caps top 4 D are playing heavy minutes (3 of 4 of their D are 2-3 minutes more than Slavin)....can they sustain?

Also, thinking about Wilson's lack of violence....I'm thinking Carbury has advised that we need you on the ice and restrain from violent activities. Given that he has been their best forward and heavily contributed to Game 2's win, that's my take.

If not for Wilson in game 2 the series would have ended last night.
