Thought we could revisit the rankings from the summer and vote again based on how guys performed this season. Obviously we will still do the summer rankings after the draft. Only going to do the top 10 here.

Same rules apply, so guys like Celebrini and Smith have now graduated.

Age cutoff 25, NHL games played cutoff greater than 40. Poll will close after 2 days unless the results are incredibly lopsided. Previous rankings in parentheses.

End of year re-rankings:

1. Yaroslav Askarov 68.7%(3)
2. Sam Dickinson 93.5% (4)

Summer 2024 rankings:

1. Macklin Celebrini ~95% (NR)
2. Will Smith ~90% (#1)
3. Yaroslav Askarov ~52% (NR)
4. Sam Dickinson ~95% (NR)
5. Quentin Musty ~49% (#3)
6. Shakir Mukhamadullin ~77% (#4)
7. Igor Chernyshov ~39% (NR)
8. Filip Bystedt ~34% (#5)
9. Kasper Halttunen ~69% (#11)
10. Daniil Gushchin ~23% (#8)
11. Collin Graf ~37% (NR)
12. Luca Cagnoni ~38% (#12)
13. Eric Pohlkamp ~45% (NR)
14. Leo Sahlin Wallenius ~52% (NR)
15. Ethan Cardwell ~52% (NR)
16. Jack Thompson (RO) ~60% (NR)
17. Jake Furlong ~25% (NR)
18. Cam Lund ~27% (#9)
19. Mattias Havelid ~33% (#10)
20. Yegor Rimashevsky ~31% (NR)

I went with Muk. I think he will be a staple in the top 4 and a good #3 that can anchor a second pair. I think that is more valuable that a complementary 1st line wing or play driving 2nd line wing which is what I see Chernyshov becoming.

It is close though.

I was deciding between cherny, Cagnoni, and Mukh.

Decided I would go cagnoni. I think he has a pretty big upside. Mukh is very injury prone, and while he has some nice tools and looked good fo about a 10 game stretch, I havent been wowed for very long. Furthermore, hes already 23, so he's 3 years older than cags.

Cherny was my second choice. The size and potential at age 19 is very attractive. Not sure what he will become but I think his ceiling is high.

Definitely between those two. I went with Cherny because I think he could still become our Nichushkin, just higher upside. Mukh is next for me but I think good #3 on a contender is his absolute ceiling. I think we'd be a better spot as a contending team if he's the complement playing offside to a Dickinson on the second pair... Or for a league elite player, a complementary #2.

But yes it's close! Either one makes sense.

had trouble deciding between Muhk and Chernyshov but ultimately went with the guy who has proven he can play in the NHL and was finally figuring the game out. Chernyshov likely had a higher ceiling (compared to their roles — 1st line wing vs. #3 defenseman) but it’s hard for me to say he’s ahead of Muhk as a prospect when he’s only played 2 pro games.

Very close though. And good for Chernyshov for having such a big rise.

I feel like the "right" choice here is cherny, mukh, cag, or mayyyybe musty/graf if you are wild. I went with the "mega smurf" because i like him a lot

Completely understand votes for Mukh and the argument he has played NHL games and looked fairly good, its basically a tie for me but I lean towards Chernyshov. Maybe it's recency bias but I think he has the higher ceiling and can be a first line power forward for us. I really liked what I saw from Mukh as the season went on and it really felt he was playing his best hockey near the end of the season and was arguably our best defensemen. I see his ceiling as a #3 D for us when we are truly competitive, so when compared to a possible first liner from Chernyshov, my vote goes to Chernyshov.

I absolutely trashed Mukh when he first came up for how lost he looked out there, and over the course of the next 30 games he turned into one of the only reliable transition players on our blueline. Credit where credit is due.

Chernyshov went from playing in a league against men to playing against kids and did what was expected of him. Let's see him prove it in the AHL next year. Really excited to see if he can reach his potential as he fills a glaring hole in our top 6 if he hits.

His beginning of the year injury was groin which is a very annoying injury that takes a while to fully recover from.

This is his shoulder from a hit — like it’s not great, but I’d be more worried if it was the groin again.

He does really, really need to bulk up.
In addition it wasn’t even a hit. It was being thrown into the boards awkwardly after the play.

My only concern is how it would effect his offseason workout routine as he needs to hit the weight room.
