Who did Knies and Patches play with the entire playoffs? On lines by themselves? Playing in the top 6 beside your team best players isn't "Depth" they are expected to chip in.. Domi was the only other forward that gave us any sort of production, while being a complete liability in his own end.

800k salary Jonah Gadjovich on the panthers chipped in twice.... He makes no money and contributed massive goals for their team in Game 3 and 7.

That 800k produced more then Jankrok,Laughton,McMann,Lortentz,Kampf,Holmberg.

Also produced more goals then Matthews + Marner as well lol

Florida averaged 4 penalties a game during the regular season. The last 2 games combined they get 2. I love playoff hockey. It's more physical and intense of the regular season.... but to have game called differently from game to game is stupid.

i think steve dangle mentioned that the NHL might be the only league that changes how the game is officiated (and therefore played) between the playoffs and the regular season

Power plays are just a momentum killer for the Leafs at this point. Not like they scored much on them in the series

You have to play aggressive to draw penalties. It’s impossible to draw penalties when guys like Matthews are constantly doing curl and drag shots from the blue line. Getting the puck in and going to work is a rarity for the Leafs.

As for Hughes. Leafs can actually lure Jack and Luke to the Leafs better than any teams in the league as all three of them literally grew up in SBC.

We need someone like JT Miller. Someone who has some fire and competitiveness. It's one thing to value skill the way Shanny does...but to not see that there is no Dawg in them is quite amazing. It's been obvious for years.

Justin Bourne said that the 2nd Boston series that Babcock was roasted for in 2019 for playing Patty Marleau more than AM was because AM kept coming off the ice because he kept taking short shifts...not because he wasn't given the shifts. The Leafs speciality is taking series to game seven just so they can prove time and time again that they can’t handle the pressure and will disappear against a determined opponent. I doubt Florida ever questioned whether they would win the series while the Leafs never truly believed they could.

That's why they had to shock and awe their way to an upset. Go up 3-0 in the series and then flub your way to success over the next 4. And that's why Joseph Woll cost them the series. He spoiled their best road effort possible.
