Post-Game Talk: End of the Shanascam? | Leafs Blown Out at Home Again

In the second period they were down 3-0 and ended up being loudly booed off the ice for the intermission, much like was the case in Game 5. With good reason, too.

How bad were they?

According to Sportsnet Stats, the Maple Leafs’ 75 shot attempts allowed to that point were the most by any team this season through two periods, either in the regular season or the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Panthers finished with nearly 100 shot attempts in the game and recorded the first 24 shots attempts on Leafs before the Leafs registered their very first.

The 6-1 loss on home ice in game #7 is the largest margin and worst result in NHL history to date by a home team. .

Yeah I don’t think Marner is going to agree to that. Why would he agree to have his rights traded? A part of going to UFA is having a ton of teams court you. Why is he going to give that up and give leverage to one team? Defeats the purpose of being a UFA from a business standpoint.
Sign and trade to the team he wants to go to. Marner gets an 8 year contract instead of a 7 year would be the play.

This series was OVER when Woll took the net. He is an AHL goaltender and nothing more. It is not the same team playing in front of him. The team has absolutely no confidence playing in front of him.

what a load of crap berube. some if not most leafs fans have been saying this for years now especially after that montreal series debacle

also its not just the mindset its the attitude. Game 5 was a prime example of that. it wasn't a mindset issue it was a lack of motivation to get it done issue

Sounds like Chief wants to be fired, and who could blame him…….

Not even angry tbh, that was actually sad to watch. Zero f***s were given when they went down 2-0. Pathetic effort from a bunch of losers. You can’t bring back Marner at any price, it’s not working here. There needs to be a new mix. I’m done with Rielly too. I’d trade him, let Tavares walk. If it doesn’t work next year you blow it up. You can get a haul for Matthews and Nylander. Thank God we didn’t trade Cowan, at least we have some sort of future with Knies and Cowan still in the fold

That looks like a terrible defensive team effort, weird, that was supposed to be their strength.

And, they are all GREEDY !!! Money, money, money, comes before competing and WINNING !!!
Its naive to believe a team in a Salary Cap World can be a serious Cup contender when you have 4 players among the top 12 highest paid players in the game.

The minute the Leafs signed Tavares to his bloated overpaid contract 7 years ago, I said this team would be screwed as that set the mark for internal salaries and player greed would see other contracts rise up to it.

I'm glad the foolish experiment is finally coming to end.

Rielly has always been a poor defender but he has been terrible the last 2 seasons. I want him gonzo along with Marner.
If management won’t do it it’s time for the Larry Murphy treatment……..

7 years is finally up Mess. And they have the chance to do it all over again.

Nylander could have been the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll. Hanging out at the blue line for breakaways is good practice.
Priceless, and Marner’s agent told him if they weren’t supplying gold bullets to stay at home……..
