They oversee a lot of decisions, Shanahan while he didn’t produce a good on ice product, did oversee a lot of good initiatives that made the organization better. One of his first goals as president was to reconnect the fan base and the alumni. That relationship had been damaged for years, I think he’s succeeded with that.
The presidents role is to be a bridge between the hockey operations and the board. So yes on ice product is one part of it, but the leafs also have relationships with a lot of stakeholders in the city. So it’s the presidents job to handle those relationships.
