Post-Game Talk: End of the Shanascam? | Leafs Blown Out at Home Again

Not defending Maurice as he is a troll esp to TO. But what do you expect a coach to say when asked did you notice any diff in the Leafs this playoffs.
Nobody will say, it took 7 games for us to beat them instead of 5. Or their system and players are not working and they need change?

Just say as little as possible and get the hell out.

Sounds like Marner and Matthews are the divas in the dressing room.

did they say and it started with us? Because if they didn't I don't want to hear it. shut up.

It makes me sick as a Torontonian that we have to suffer our own team on the ice and then have a Paul Maurice tell us how it really is, like the media and fanbase in this town are so ignorant and ungrateful that we don't know up from down.

All the while this town shells out thousands of dollars as a fanbase to suffer 6-1 losses in 2 straight games and some visiting narcissist gas lighter tell us how really works. f*** off Paul. Toronto isn't your personal soapbox, you were a brutal Leafs coach and I'm glad we ran your ass out of town. Don't forget this dumb town funds a nice percentage of your paycheque.

honestly like i would want him to break down specifically what is better, and what we're missing if he believes that so much. I took a nap. i can be up all night Paul.

lmao, worried about marner's mental sanity and a joke pass in 4 nations that anyone could do.

His fans really are to the detriment of this team and it rubbed off on management as well. He will be an outstanding regular season playoff and then a shrimp ghost in the playoffs like always. Marner will never have a cup

STFU go cry a river somewhere else.

MM agreed with him.

MM is an amazing Pippen but he is no MJ. But he wants to be paid like MJ.

Did he? I have to listen for context. Truthfully there were passengers tho, but you don’t say that to the media. Bobby McMann did f*** all this playoffs, had high hopes for him to at least contribute one goal

A lot of people look at game 6 to prove what the team could have been capable of and feel we simply laid an egg.

What I saw in game 6 was a florida team that didn't push 10% as hard as they could. We managed a couple goals against a conservative Florida team.

The moment this game started and florida wasn't just sitting back, I knew in my heart we'd lose unless we got fortunate and got a lead early on a bounce or whatever.

Sure, we laid an egg, but more than that, florida was just so much better of a team than we were. This game was always Florida's to win or lose.

Just reading off CJ tweets

The problem with Maurice is he’s an asshole and can’t not be patronizing. So we don’t need his breakdown and we don’t need him to chime in. Begone with him!

unfortunately never once in 9 years has one of these guys ever taken responisbilty for their own play. tanev was our best player this series by far and hes the only one who took any personal responsibilty..and he shouldnt have. sad state of affairs.

First off all I’m not a Marner fan, I’m a Maple Leafs fan, go continue to be a crying puss somewhere else.
"Go on to be an outstanding player elsewhere"

Are you drinking your own marner kool aid buddy? Have you been paying attention for past 9 years? You think a change of scenery is gonna teach him how to play this game at the highest level when the games are tight? He's not capable . If you were a leafs fan first and foremost - you wouldn't want someone like that back at a massive cap hit

It's crazy that he sucks so much and is the leading scorer for the team in the playoffs...

My guess is I think a lot of people in hockey think this market is overly critical of the organization.

But the truth is, it’s been since 67 since we’ve won anything. So ya we are going to be critical because why is it taking this long to build a winner?

Who said I want him back? If anything I’ve been one of the only people from the beginning of the season who’s been consistent in saying there’s not a shot in hell he comes back. The relationship between the player and the franchise has been fractured for years. Anyone who thought there was going to be any amicable resigning here was probably delusional. I haven’t for a second thought or believed Marner would resign here. I’m surprised they didn’t trade him in 2023. I fully thought he was gone after that series.

And yes Marner’s a good player, he will find his footing with another team. Him and Matthews don’t work well together. But I think with another group, Marner can and probably will figure it out it.

I think they wanted to - but Shanahan didn't agree with the move and canned Dubas for the thought.

He forced this core to run it back again and again
