Podcast (Audio) End of Season Player Media availability

Lots of great interviews today.
You can tell how much G means to the group and how much they liked playing for Travis Green.

People are so quick to condemn ... I wondered if Batherson would take the interview before the news came out. He will be asked to testify and his name is already associated with filming in the room obviously turned over when he was initially questioned. Avoiding that inevitable line of questioning is understandable. He normally is generous with his time.
It was Batherson’s Wedge that Hart was holding when he told E.M. to keep going.

Sounds to me like he's headed to surgery. Didn't exactly go into detail but the way he says he needs to figure stuff out with his doctors. it doesn't seem like simple rehab and time will be enough.

At least he seems confident he can be back for training camp so that's reassuring.
To get back to his play at the beginning of the season will be huge. Props to him to play through it, even though he wasn't as effective. He was still better than any other options available due to lack of depth.

Pinto is up now

Talked quite a bit on his defensive role and how he embraced it. You get the sense he'd like more offensive opportunities. IMO he should not have been taken off PP2 where he could get that .. I don't think the options there were ever better

I heard somewhere, think it was CIH podcast, that Green would almost always put the Pinto line on after a PP so that probably explains why he wasn't on PP2. I, also think it's because he's on the PK and is the shutdown line with lots of ice-time so doesn't want to overload him.

Hopefully, the coaching staff have learned a few things too this past season like avoid putting the 4th line/3rd pairing on right after the Sens score when possible.

Not surprised Jensen was injured, usually a very good skater and just couldn't keep the pace. I understand all teams have injuries at this time of year, but some of our guys were hurt bad and we could still have won that serie. Very impressed with some of the kids playoff performance (Pinto, Greig, Kleven and of course our two young superstar Sandy and Stu). Very proud of the boys and looking forward to watch them keep improving. If G wants to stay at a discount I'm all for it as he's a great leader, great at face-offs and can teach our young centerman which was our downfall against the Leafs, but IMHO he should not be on our top line anymore as he has slowed down. Great year overall and I'm hopefully for many more to come in the next years ! Go Sens Go !!!

Yeah Yorkie said that a few days ago

Not A Sens regular but I like the team. Certainly was hoping for a win over those 416ers.

But most important, I hope my adult kids are as straight as those Tkachuk boys. Keith and Chantelle did things right. I’m sure their daughter is wired the same. Committed, dedicated, hardworking, respectful, supportive. What else can you ask for.

Thanks Sens for a fun series to watch. Good luck going forward.

PS - I miss you Clarke MacArthur. ;)

Still waiting working my way through all the videos, but I did want to jump in and say:

Tkachuk comments were good to hear. While clearly unhappy with how the season ended, you can see an air of resolve around him that makes me excited for next year

Upper body one he said he didn't want to put it out there but not something you can play through makes me think it was a concussion, but who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a rib issue. Cracked or broken ribs and trying to take a good breath or absorb contact is hellish. The way he moved on the ice really looked like he was laboring in that area.

Travis Hamonic is a beautiful human being. I hate to see him go but he just isn’t what this team needs. Maybe he can find a spot on another team. Maybe he retires and finds a spot with the Sens org.

In any case, his interview was touching. I have a ton of respect for him.
I don’t know anyone who can just bounce back from what would be season ending injuries to other people.

Guy is a true warrior but he’s just not good enough for a #7 IMO.

Assistant coach. Guys like him and he was a warrior and they respect him for that.

Glad to see Stu doesn't have a wrist injury, means he can work when to let his shot rip and hit 35+g

I wish Tkachuk, Jensen, Chabot, and Greig (and anyone else that might have an undisclosed injury) all the best/rest. Spend time with the loved ones, they (and everyone else) earned the rest after playing their asses off

Was interesting to hear what Kleven said he would work on with him. Value of 900 games experience and knowledge. Maybe some sort of d skills coaching gig could make sense. Certainly sounded like Hamonic wants to stay in Ottawa, wonder if that includes not as a player anymore?

Could circle back on him for some development role after he exhausts his UFA options. I think he is done as a player but he has to come to that.
