Sounds like Giroux really wants to stay in Ottawa and keep playing for a while still. While I admit to being down on him lately, if he's ready to play at a discount to be a depth guy and provide guidance to the young guys, I'm all for it.

Sounds like Giroux really wants to stay in Ottawa and keep playing for a while still. While I admit to being down on him lately, if he's ready to play at a discount to be a depth guy and provide guidance to the young guys, I'm all for it.

It will be interesting to see what he gets. Still an elite faceoff guy, even if he had a rough playoffs at the dot, he still can kill penalties, he's still a smart player that can chip in, maybe in a lesser role he can keep his level of play higher,

I did not want him back based on the regular season. Too soft and passive, but he stepped up in the playoffs. I'm still not a fan of cowering away from Max Domi punching him in the face. I got Latendresse vibes from that.

I'd bring him back for the 4th line at typical 4th line salary. If he tries to ask for more - then cya.

That seems to be the general consensus, and you know when every single NHL player who plays with you thinks you're Norris worthy, that it'll most likely happen.

Sounds to me like he's headed to surgery. Didn't exactly go into detail but the way he says he needs to figure stuff out with his doctors. it doesn't seem like simple rehab and time will be enough.

At least he seems confident he can be back for training camp so that's reassuring.
