Anyone that pays him 8 Million will end up like the Redwings. Slow scoring wingers that arent play drivers cannot make that much on competitve teams. I love watching Quinn Hughes play hockey so i usually watch Canucks games if they are on late. I literally never notice Boeser.

He might still not get 8M. That's his asking price based on his production - but that doesn't mean teams will be lining up to pay that price. It's still possible that free agency opens, and he has to settle for far less.

Boeser is def. not injury prone........he missed time due to a very late and dirty hit this year that would have sidelined any player. Shame as he was playing really well up until that and after he just wasn't quite the same.

Smart player, good on the boards scored some very very key goals for us the last few years. Solid defensively just a very slow skater who absolutely needs someone to drive play for him. With the right linemate(s) he should score 30-40 goals. Van just doesn't have that linemate for him any more and we really need to get quicker. Most fans would have been open to resigning him for 5 years but that seems to be where management has drawn the line. Could see him continue to be productive for the next 5-7 years thou as he's never relied on his speed to be effective.

Good points minus the injury prone. This year he missed a few games due a concussion on an illegal hit. But otherwise the last 2 years he’s barely missed a game and still played 74 3 years ago.

He’s never played a full 82, although he basically did last year, that’s still only once. He’s only hit 30 goals once because he’s been injured every year.

not sure if Oilers have the cap money to sign Boeser at 8+ million for 7 years and be able to sign Bouchard, McDavid and others. Canucks with cap space dont want him for that term, what makes you think Oilers with little to no cap space will sign him?

Canucks signed a better Boeser in Debrusk for 5.5 million. Am sure they are doing the right thing and perhaps freeing up money to get what they need, a top line center. Chytil can be traded with picks to accommodate any trades for a top line center and free up additional cap space.

I don’t disagree with you . Last time I commented on him I was chastised for not recognizing his improved play away from the puck ( obviously you haven’t watched the last few years ; despite watching several Canuck games ) . So trying to come up with a valuation with that built in ( whether true or false ) . Maybe now that he’s leaving Vancouver fans will change their tune .

Well he won’t be getting 8 years unless it’s a sign and trade, but yes it appears Boeser’s camp wants to maximize the contract and I don’t blame him.

He's smart, but he has terrible foot speed, especially in the starts and stops. He plays good passive defense because he is smart, he's decent and strong in stationary board battles and net front, but he's not good if he needs to skate, which for a lot of coaches is everything. The good defensively bit I think is mostly from his interceptions and breakups on the back check that stick out.
