Rumor: End of an era with Boeser and Canucks. Boeser: "Honestly its unlikely at this point (to re-sign)". Where does he go and for how much?

Core pieces? Losing those two sucked, but both were complimentary pieces that likely get much small roles in Edmonton.
I know better then to get in an argument with belair. So that’s not what I’m doing , but I do want to say Bank Shot started it first

That fits perfectly in their salary structure for their core. They do it easily.

They have 8.5 coming off the books just from retentions and UFA's they won't re-sign.
They need a center they can't blow their load on a a winger before they secure that.

How slow is he?

If Ehlers walks, I could see Chevy making a run at him. Minnesota boys are probably the most likely to be OK with coming to Winnipeg

Boeser is below average speed, significantly slower than Ehlers.

Understandable. Canucks had to save their cap space for core pieces like Hoglander and Joshua.
You’re not wrong but I’d rather not sign a 8 x 8 for a one dimensional 30 goal man who can’t skate or stay healthy. Especially not one who was about to be dumped with a 1st just for taking him at 6.5m

If Marner walks in the off-season this is a worthy Plan B for Toronto. Definitely a large delta between the two players, but him and Matthews seem to get along and if the Leafs can for once sign someone at a team friendly price the extra cap space would go a long way.

Something tells me he wants to play for an American team though after all the years in Vancouver
Just what the leafs need, a slow soft forward who doesn’t drive play or offer anything outside of 25-30 goals.

The leafs need a lot more of Matt Knies types, not Brock Boeser.

I think there’s about a 50% chance he signs in MN. The only reason Guerin couldn’t bring him in a few years ago is because the cap wouldn’t work.

If term is his biggest desire, maybe you throw Vancouver a 4th or 5th round pick to get the extra year on his contract. Doing that might bring the AAV down by $500-750K.

8 years, $60M ($7.5M AAV) is my guess. $7.5M is going to be around 5% of the cap towards the end of that contract, which is completely manageable if he falls off.

He's not really a consistent 40 goal scorer
He only scored 30 goal once, same year he scored 40 goals

Most of his career he's been a mid 20s goal guy

Which shocks me actually around the hype this guy gets.
He’s a 30 goal pace scorer over his >500 game career. Health has been a factor, but baggage like his father’s health concerns are behind BB now. UFA Guys who can put up 30 g and 65 p are going to be coming in costlier than many think given the cap changes.

calling Boeser's time with the Canucks an "Era" is an insult to eras and explains why they never went anywhere during his tenure. He is not that guy.
