He's not supposed to be exciting. He's a bottom 9 type of player, with physicality, good forecheck and a good shot. He's doing well for a kid playing 9-10 minutes a night.

Im not seeing the physicality enough to have him on my future fourth line.

Heineman's been pretty good thus far, no slouch defensively, fast, physical, shoots well, and he's made things happen on the ice despite limited ice time.

Once we rotate-out of the Armia, Dvorak, Anderson, Gallagher overpaid bottom-6, I think Heineman will be, alongside Tuch and Florian Xhekaj currently doing very well in the AHL, a good long-term 3rd/4th line forward for us.

Has good shot, could pot 20 annually

20 seems like a long shot.

He's still young. Hopefully as he matures and ages, he will get stronger. He's got all the tools to be an effective 4th liner, especially if gets strong.
I don’t know why they haven’t tried him on the second line yet. He hits, retrieves pucks and has a good shot.

This board is so crazy lol. He was all but written off in preseason and the first few games of the regular season.

I’m not saying he’s arrived but dude has a ton goi g for him. He reminded me of Patches pre-Character incident with more physicality and not as high upside.

We have way too many guys that could be top 6 ahead of him but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that he moves up there from time to time.

But it’s all about not getting hurt and whether he can keep this up. We’ve had way too many kids show flashes and perish. Really rooting for him

I like the job Heineman is doing in his 1st bunch of NHL games. His D is good, skating is good and he is working out there. Like it.

Not sure if he has the same hockey sense as Patches. Max knew the soft spots on the ice, made great outlet passes, and processed the game at a fairly high level.

I'm not sure Heineman understands the game in the same sense. He is pure north-south player. Not much of a passer. Has a deadly shot when he does find room. But he's not been that great at finding that open ice.

That said, I like him.

he's had some consistency problems in the AHL, starting off really hot and then fading, but of course many young players struggle with consistency over a long season as it's a tough grind I'm sure. For now he just needs to stay healthy and play his game.
