Player Discussion Emil Heineman Part 2 Get Well Soon Edition

Nah.

He has a good shot but it feels his IQ is maybe not high enough to know how to use it most of the time. He’s great as a bottom 9 player, though.

His IQ is fine, his biggest issue is staying healthy/coming back from injury, It seems like it takes him the longest time to get back to his level of play whenever he comes back from injury, which is normal for young players.

Also, he's such a hard forechecker, a lot of the times he's not really in position to shoot, but I'd like to see him taking the puck to the net more often.

If we could land a Crosby for our second line, I would love to see Heineman on the wing with Demidov.

I am curious at how much folks would be willing to give up for 38 year old Crosby...
I said what I would , 16-17 and a top prospect not name hage it reinbacher.
Many would say not enough , I say if he wants to join the Habs it is and if he don’t no offer would make it happy

Pittsburgh needs a haul of both roster players and picks.

Evans
Matheson 50% retained
Engstrom or Trudeau or Konyushov
Farrell or Davidson or Tuch
Miller or Primeau or Volokhin
1st round pick 2026

for:
Crosby
2nd round pick

This is just another Halak, Ryder and a 2nd on steroids lol.

Clearly a proposition from a Hab fan.
Not trying to pick on you at all but you have to know that this is just the typical fan proposition of all the players/assets that you don't really value in return for something that you greatly value. Why would Pit even consider this when they could trade Crosby for better assets elsewhere?

Most of these prospects are worth very little and are overvalued by Hab fans in trade discussions.

Matheson has value, especially at 50% retained but they already traded him to us....they aren't going to trade Crosby for an older version of a player that they already unloaded along with some B prospects and 1st that likely will be in the back half of the draft....and throw in a second with Crosby?? Crosby would cost both of our firsts this year and at least one of our better prospects.

If they actually went after Crosby I could see them also trying to get Letang as well.......I don't think this will happen but getting Crosby means they are trying to win now and they would be going all in. This is the main reason that I don't see Crosby coming here as HuGo are committed to their original plan and aren't going to blow things up for players at the very end of their careers.

I'm happy to not get Crosby if Pittsburgh wants too much for him.

However, Crosby may go for less than we think his real value is, IF HE WANTS TO GO SOMEWHERE IN PARTICULAR, just like Patrick Kane went for a surprisingly small return. These guys have full NMCs so they have the cards.

Seems folks are willing to twerk for just about anyone on the 2nd line lol

9-10M for Sam Bennett?

I can just imagine what some would be willing to trade for Crosby

Which is why the only way Crosby would be of interest is if he wanted a trade and only to Montreal. In which case they aren't getting great assets for him.
And Ryder, Halak and a 2nd was a very good proposal. It may not have seemed so at the time but it turned out to be a solid package.

Yeah, maybe I'd trim down the breadth of the package a bit while improving the players being traded. Like maybe Evans, Kapanen, Engstrom and a second. Then re-sign Dvorak.

A bunch of garbage for Crosby. Come on, he's 38 but still has value.

Again, Crosby might not get full vaue, just as Patty Kane did not.

But four years of a solid bottom line PKer with chip-in offensive contributions, a young talented potential middle six C, and a young very mobile potential offensive D, PLUS a high second, are things that would benefit Pittsburgh if they want to re-tool.

They can get A LOT more value than a 4th liner and C prospects from a serious contender.

Maybe, but if Crosby refuses that trade, Dubas can't make it happen.

Once again, Crosby holds the cards. If he asks to be traded to Colorado to form a Cole Harbour club, we might be surprised how little the Avs get him for.

His IQ is his weakest attribute, it is not terrible but with his plus size, strength, speed, effort and shot it is the bottleneck that stands between him being a bottom six or a top six forward.

I think it would hurt, but not as much as people think.
Are they ready to give up 1st round picks?? And a player or 2.................not sure our fanbase has the stomach for it.........
It's just not worth it, we're not winning a cup with or without him.

If you're a top6, top 8 team in the league, and you're missing a #2 center, for sure a #1 pick and a player or two for Crosby is something you consider doing.

Did we give up on Dach? If Dach is healthy next season and plays with Demidov and Heineman that could be a really good line. Otherwise we need Crosby.
