I'm really hoping Nelson has a playoff mode.
The 2nd line was on fire couple games when it was Lehky-Nelson-Necas and 1st was okay with Druin-Mack-Val.

Then for some god awful reason JB changed them and 1st and 2nd hasnt produced anything since.

If Bednar doesnt start with those line combinations game 1 I want his ass out...

EDIT: @RoyIsALegend reminded me of the correct lines :sarcasm:

Necas and Nelson are big fails as far as I can determine.

One slight correction, it was Drouin-MacK-Val and Lehky-Nelly-Marty.

We need to stick with those!

Bednar started tinkering with the lines because Mack got hurt and Lehky and Nuke went ice cold.

It all started between the Ottawa and Montreal games on the last East Coast trip.

The stretch between the deadline and the Ottawa game was the best of the season, by far. Team was firing on all cylinders.

Nelson will be fine. Again, people passing judgement on the guy in utterly meaningless hockey games as if we haven't seen him play very well when flanked by Lehkonen and Necas, who he obviously has the most chemistry with.

There's no guarantee Bednar goes with these lines, that's my biggest fear.

Make or break for Bednar imo. If he gets outcoached again I would hope for a replacement, assuming there is someone good out there.

I really had to dig deeper with stats:

Druin - Mack - Val
Lehky - Nelly - Marty

20.4 5-1 Avs @ Ottawa
22.4 5-4 (SO) Avs @ Montreal
25.4 2-5 Wings @ Avs
27.7 0-4 LA @ Avs

5vs5 stats without bunch of pp goals and assists.

1st line Druin 0G 2A, Mack 1G 1A, Val 1G 0A
2nd line Lehky 0G 1A, Nelly 2G 2A, Marty 1G 1A
3rd line Kivi 1G 1A, Coyle 0G 1A, Colton 0G 2A
4th line LOC 1G 0A, Drury 0G 1A, Wood/? 0G 0A

So yeah hell no to that :damnpc: (edit. Sarcasm warning)

There is absolutely no way Dallas was coasting until now. Until the end of the 2nd period last night they still had a very good chance to finish first in the Central. Being outshot every game they played lately doesn't mean they were coasting. It means they have one of the weakest D without Heiskinen.

Seguin and Heiskinen coming back is a definite concern for our 1st round matchup although Heiskinen might still not be 100% by then.

Avs have the extra rest days compared to Dallas with regular season ending like 2 games ahead. Mack has relaxed like over a week before game1 if he doesnt play anymore.

Avs should absolutely skate around Dallas both games 1 and 2 and come home to wrap the sweep.

The longer it goes the harder it becomes.

Anything less than winning a cup should cost Bedsy his job. Unless they lose in the finals in one of the closets coached series ever, but with bedsy in the equation that’s not likely.

stars/avalanche will be some entertaining vulcanized rubber chasing material
I fear benn and his shenanigans though , his targets may include , and I quote " makar, blackwood or necas "
one thing is certain , benn will choose a target and it will end badly for the avalanche
he is good at what he does, unfortunately he plays for the opponent
neutralize him ,<somehow> and it levels the ice a bit
<speculation>

Who do you think is the bigger X-Factor: Seguin, Heiskanen, or Landeskog.
None of those 3. Seguin and Landeskog will both not be a differnce maker. But Landeskog coming back just in time after 3 years will give the AVS a major boost.

If Heiskanen is ready to roll, which i still think will happen (and yes, i dont buy this shit from Nill and DeBoer), It will be a boost for Dallas because this D needs Heiskanen badly. But i doubt he will be at 100 % and able to hold the fort against our firepower this time.

It depends how healthy the AVS are going to be next week. If all men are on board and Landy rolling out on the 4th line... Oh boy.....

And like i said before: Not if someone targets him first. I dont care with playing if "fair" anymore. You want to go after one of ours, prepare to pay the price this time. Thats the mindset i want for this team.

If he really lose in Round 1 with this team and talent and nearly everyone on board, and after CMac went all in at TDL, i am not hoping he will be gone, he has to.

Didn't the Avs just extend Jared through 26-27?

I don't think they are thinking about firing him no matter what happens.
