Which one do you prefer? Personally I like eliteprospects better as they usually go all the way back to the players minor hockey stats if they-re available. Elite also does a better job for the players info and the trophy display is also pleasing.

I wanted to comment how is this even a question in 2022 but the score is 17-0 atm so yeah, it isn't.

There are a few specific things that I use hockeydb for because its much faster (especially looking up draft picks). For the most part, though, I've migrated to EP

HockeyDB for coaching records, goalie stats, and draft searches. Eliteprospects for general stats coverage and comprehensiveness. Hockey-Reference for everything else.

i just noticed elite has a couple years of my minor hockey stats lol... no idea how they got their hands on that.

DB is still always my go to though BUT i do like elite for the minor hockey stats and up to date World championship type tournaments

Hockeydb is much easier to navigate and use for just a quick glance at stats.

For diving into midget, bantam, international play, you go eliteprospects.

Major midget, bantam, rem all record stats locally on websites and such. It’s pretty easy to just pull up, my little brother played REM AA (the lowest rep hockey there is in Edmonton) and even his stats are on there.

You would assume stats would be tracked for the whl bantam draft and such at that level.

I used to always say EliteProspects, but it's not very good anymore. Full of junk and ads and there's actually a view limit per month.

A very irritating website and I would never give them my money.

Hockeydb would be the best if they expanded their stats a little bit. For example, if they included stats for international tournaments. I would stop visiting EP completely if they did that.

Elite Prospects is useless and a mess to navigate. It's definitely a dumbed-down version of the official league stat pages, which a simple bookmarks bar is all you need for one-click navigation. And I can't fathom why anybody would pay them for "premium" stat options when all they do is cut and paste (or upload) the same shit from the official league sites.

Go. To. The. League. Sites. Almost all have english options anyway.

Made the decision to never use EP again two years ago and it has had zero impact on my ability to get player data. I literally never use it because I feel scummy supporting those copycat frauds, and also because the league sites are more accurate and official. The league sites provide you everything you need with context and advanced data, game logs, TOI, shots, etc. All free. IIHF data? All free.
