Post-Game Talk: Eliminated

Like I said the other day, the game against the Islanders was like giving a fix to a drug addict, temporary feel-good that masks the issues and that's what's been going on around here for quite a while. I'm glad they exposed themselves today with that piss poor effort
I don't think a single person on Earth extrapolated from that Islanders game.

@Leonardo87 I saw these at the mall!

It generated some hope which for this fanbases and team is a fix. It's also fun to dummy the Islanders but I would have preferred to lose that game and not hurt the draft position or even have a night to feel good about this group. This is possibly the most dislikeable team I've ever followed so watching that game made me sick bc I wanted to be happy/excited about the Islanders looking like an echl team but I couldn't bc this nyr team is so unlikeable

We did really well in that era. The Jagr teams were a lot of fun and all the while, we built something even better. If that team got lucky in the draft once, they would have won the Cup.

Building a good era of Rangers hockey is possible.

I would feel a lot better if Drury didn't low-key kinda go all in for no reason.

The Miller trade made no f***ing sense and he shouldn't have committed to Igor. I don't care if "they were never going to do that." That doesn't make it right.

We haven't even started this rebuild or whatever you want to call it and we've already signed a crippling contract that didn't even kick in yet. What a start.
Agreed. After dealing with quitters and bums like Stephane Quintal, Alexei Gusarov, Valeri Kamensky, and Billy Tibbets, it was refreshing to see a lunchpail group play their asses off every game. And yes, the Jagr line was as entertaining of a line to watch as I've ever seen as a Ranger fan. That group eventually gave way to the kids in our pipeline.....Callahan, Girardi, Staal, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Dawes. Throw in some solid reclamation projects like Brian Boyle, Sean Avery, and Erik Christensen. It opened up a window of competitive hockey with players who actually gave a crap.

I totally get what you're saying (winning the President's Trophy last year when they played like a bubble team) but I think everyone in the organization, let alone the fans, has known they're done for weeks now.

It’s also possible that Igor goes back to being a top 3 goalie again next year.

Goalies are inconsistent, but that can often mean great years to accompany the down ones. The peaks and valleys in Quick, Fleurys careers were things to behold.
Wish i could like this 100x.

Next year he could be stealing us games left and right, it’s really not that far off. And with a better team next to him we are a top 5 team in the east easily.

That’s why im so glad we are going to keep our draft pick.

Yes. I really think so. I think he's just exhausted from the bullshit in front of him every game.

I agree with you, but WE COULD HAVE JUST NOT TRADED ANY DRAFT PICKS!

Even this supposedly horrible season of his he is 4th in the league in both GSAE & WAR

That's awesome. Enjoy a $5 cheeseburger on me!
The concessions were something else. Nothing food wise over $3. The chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich were my favorites. Trail mix was top notch too. Beers were $6. I controlled myself for the first time and only had 4 throughout the day as I actually wanted to remember this event lol

That first will be for next year, probably around 22nd when we make the playoffs with a new core with JT leading it when we get rid of the country club losers this offseason. It was never about this season.

We were never going anywhere with loser Mika, kreider, and Panarin this year when they all got butthurt about Goodrow and Trouba.

Who's replacing Mika, Kreider and Panarin and how are we aquiring them?

Is body language like when Fox shoots a puck into the goalie's glove and he always tilts his head back and to the side because every play can't be perfect and you have to adapt sometimes?
I've met Fox and he's a good guy. He's also incredibly comfortable here. Too comfortable. He needs to heal and change his training and be a leader already.
