Vancouver shouldn't have signed guys like Mikeyev last off-season that passes Petterson's current contract. Gonna need every penny to sign him. Great player.

Getting rid of Boeser/Garland is a smart idea now to make up for that mistake.
We have the money already by letting bo go

Including this beauty play:

Ties McDavid and Draisaitl for 6th most 5 point nights the last 20 years, and he's currently riding a 1.35PPG his last 110 games.

Remember when HFboard said Petersson was a bust early last season and was worth less than Dahlin?? I wouldn't trade Petey for 2 Dahlins lol the reason why I don't take HFBoard members too seriously when it comes to talent evaluation since they just evaluate a players performance based on their last game 🤦

This reminds me of Tim Hunter cheapshotted Turgeon in the 90's. There's no room for that, lightly or heavily, needs to be treated the same punishment to protect our players' investments.
Reminds me of sore losers that try to somehow take revenge. It's very unsportsmanlike but some hockey fans think it's great which I don't get. It doesn't show you are tough, just a cheap loser

Canucks ownership is at EP’s mercy next contract. They better hope he wants to stay in Vancouver….
In the interview he mentioned that he wants to be a Canuck but will focus on the moment and think about the extension in the summer. Am sure he will be signed long term and it's probably why we traded Horvat. Canucks will give Petey 10 mil plus for 8 years.

Managment deciding to brige Pettersson might go down as one of the worst moves they have made.

Like they went about that offseason completely backwards and signed Pettersson and Hughes after trading and signing Dickinson, and most importantly, moving out $14MM of contracts that would expire in a year for $14MM of contracts for 4+ years.

Phenomenal player. Vancouver will lose him though
Why would you say that? I think management will sign him by giving him a bank cheque lol

This is his first season playing like a top 10 C and the first year out of 5 that he's been ppg or better. Those other guys have a much better track record. Nylander has as many points as Kaprizov this year, on pace for 45 goals, 95 points. That doesn't automatically rank him at the level of guys like Kaprizov, Marner, Pasta, etc. EP is well on his way to becoming a top 5 C but he's not above guys like Drai yet. He's in the tier with Thompson and Hughes.

McDavid
Matthews
Mackinnon
Drai
Thompson
Hughes
EP
Crosby
Barkov
I take EP over Thompson and Jack Hughes

True he might be a top 10 centre then LMFAO
Nah he would get 150pts with McDavid next to him. He can shoot 100 mph and pass it like McDavid so it would be a very lethal combo. He made a pass through 4 Philly players to schenn and made schenn look like Makar lol. Even my mom would get 100 points next to McDavid on PP lol

Hughes is a much better offensive player than EP, I don't think the gap in defensive play warrants EP over Hughes. Factor in Hughes has a great contract and EP will probably make more on his next contract...I'll take Hughes.

Thompson...LOL no chance, the skill he has at that size is a nightmare to play against.

Sorry but one season that’s only just half finished does not make him a top 5 centre
But 5 bad games makes him a bust in HFboard world lol. So to be top 5 it takes 10 seasons of 100 plus points but to be a bust takes 5 to 10 bad games. You guys were labelling him a bust early last season, remember?? Eventhough he had won a Calder in his rookie year.

You probably take Louis Eriksson over Petey too, so I don't take whatever you say seriously. Jack Hughes gets injured easily and Thompson doesn't posses the same hockey IQ that Petey has

Some of the worst posts in HF history were made in Pettersson threads in the first half of last season.
These are the same people that are coming over here, saying they need to see Petey put 10 seasons of 100 plus points before they can label him a top 20 center while saying Thompson is already a generational player.

Well I mean Benning is clinically Pejorative Slured so that's not really a surprise

What an awful take. And I've been an EP doubter.

Thompson with a career avg of 0.63 ppg and EP at 0.98 ppg but somehow Tag's career year makes him a better player than Petterson? Okay

Elias Petersson has never had a ppg season, up until this year. He's also been injured in almost half his seasons.

Jack Hughes was on a 94 point pace year 3, EP was on a 66 point pace year 3
Jack Hughes is on a 111 point pace this year (year 4), EP is on pace for 108 points year 5

Nobody except Canuck fans is taking EP over Thompson LOL go ahead and make a poll if you want.

I’d probably take Thompson over Pettersson, but definitely not Hughes over Pettersson.
Elias Petersson has never had a ppg season. Jack Hughes was on pace for 90+ points year 3 of his career.

Hughes doesn’t even come close to Pettersson in terms of overall complete game.
