...i mean, except Miller is one of the best players in the best league in the world.I was watching game live when Miller screamed at his goalie Collin Delia to skate to the bench for the extra attacker (despite the coaches not calling him over). That was all I needed to see, to know Miller is one of those annoying guys you usually see on bottom level beer league teams. Negative, always getting mad at teamates when they screw up, but at the same time awful at accepting any negative feedback that comes their own way.
Miller I'm sure gets in Petey's face about his performance, and Petey I"m sure a bit immature about it all and gets in his face back and after the 10th time, or so, rift occurs.
for sure, i wasn't suggesting he's a beer league player. But some guys can dish it out and can't take it is all i'm saying, and I would bet anything Miller is one of those guys...i mean, except Miller is one of the best players in the best league in the world.
We likely will never know the truth of the situation but being great at something doesn't entitle you to be an asshole to your peers. I'd like to think Miller and Pettersson are just both competitive guys who express some frustration when things don't go well. Vancouver has worked hard to rebuild the team after Benning and this sort of problem if it exists is just unnecessary....i mean, except Miller is one of the best players in the best league in the world.
Good on him for silencing the silly reporter and walking off, hope him and the canucks have a great rest of their season
Both have come out saying it’s just a media made up situation. Narratives always get made when teams underperform, just exaggerating it in one of Canada’s biggest marketsSo is he telling the truth or do we need to start spelling his name E-lie-us

And not in convincing fashion. Players aren’t going to tell the Canadian media “yea no it’s actually really bad. It’s cool tho, don’t go wild”Both have come out saying it’s just a media made up situation. Narratives always get made when teams underperform, just exaggerating it in one of Canada’s biggest markets
They alluded to locker room issues, which is common for teams underperforming. People are trying to read between the lines when there is nothing between the lines. And not in convincing fashion. Hughes and the coach already came out and basically acknowledged there’s a degree of truth, and I’d trust Friedman
Now, how bad it is could definitely be exaggerated, but it’s likely not nothing. The team really should have got together and all got on the same page before addressing media. Surprised Canadian teams don’t have like a PR crisis team in the media relations team lol. Might as well be good money.
Whoa whoa whoa, lets simmer those expectationsThe easiest way to make this go away is to win hockey games.
isnt EP the same dude who gets praised for being good but then does nothing for a decent chunk of the season?
Miller has in the past explicitly acknowledged there is a unique degree of “difference in personality” that they had to “work on” last year (or two years ago), and multiple times has been described as “work in progress.” It’s an acknowledged thing for a while. They alluded to locker room issues, which is common for teams underperforming. People are trying to read between the lines when there is nothing between the lines.

I also agree it’s probably ignorable when winning and worse when losing, but Miller is uniquely “intense” (there was an interesting deep dive profile on him from the athletic a year or two ago that got quotes from him, and even his mother lol), while Pettersson is reserved. I personally understand that kind of contrast.
A headache is a headache and I don’t think they’re causing the Canucks to lose in the first place, it can definitely be a distraction and has potential to create a wider divide where players have been traded off teams before.
Again I think the media is likely blowing it out of proportion, but “silences the media” was a bit much lol. There’s probably something for real that was initially heard, and then others ran with. It’s an entertainment league and storylines are entertaining, discussing the inner workings of teams is entertaining etc
must be hard to watch hockey when your head is buried so deeply in the sand..They alluded to locker room issues, which is common for teams underperforming. People are trying to read between the lines when there is nothing between the lines.
It’s actually pretty easy, hockey is much more enjoyable when you’re not trying to follow false narratives.must be hard to watch hockey when your head is buried so deeply in the sand..
So you are saying that the coach, the captain of the team, and the most reputable insiders in the sport are lying? It’s actually pretty easy, hockey is much more enjoyable when you’re not trying to follow false narratives.
