What a disaster.

It’s not that they let anything happen. The on ice performance speaks for itself. EP cratered since his extensions and questions will be asked. The media is just going over after the smoke. Of course it’s going to be a topic. The worst part is though is that team can’t even keep the story straight. It’s been going on too long.

When I say that they let it out, I'm speaking of the team, not Miller and pettersson.

This isn't the first time that pettersson has looked lost. There were times particularly in that 2nd covid year where I couldn't recognize him either.

It's a fire that could have been prevented by keeping it in the room.... which teams around the league generally do a good job of. Not sure why they would even acknowledge this particularly in a Canadian market.

I thought this whole thing was pretty overblown personally

I no longer think that after watching this video

A lot less productive

Also he's now back to his pre Tocchet self, lazy defensively, bozo passes here and there

bascially, the usual JT Millers before 23-24

btw, media requested both him and EP last night and only the "soft dive" actually stood out and talked cause Miller rejected. What a leader heh
Yeah EP’s getting grilled for his reaction but at least he went out there to face the music.

Although I guess JT should be given some grace in that regard, given he recently had to step away from the team ostensibly for mental health reasons. Still, one can only imagine the backlash had things been the other way around, with EP sitting out for a “mental reset”

Because they did such a bad job of trying to fix it that it got of hand. You have an 11 mil player playing like trash since you him the money and you have a guy coming off a leave of absence for personal reason that should related things but given the history of the players you have media and fans asking questions. One of these players should have been traded years ago.

A rift, which let’s be honest probably every team has at some point went from a rift to a full blown locker room issue that is not only tanking the players involved but also the team.

As a Canucks fan, this didn't remotely silence the rumours. And the rumours can hardly be called rumours anymore. This is a shitshow and it's not going away. Sucks to have our best 1-2 centre punch we've ever had and they clearly can't stand each other.

I mean JT and Petey got in a shoving match in practice where JT called him a baby. That's not just a regular practice fight IMO.

Oh well, guess we'll see how it plays out.

The 2nd paragraph is purely speculative. It would generally take something extreme to break up the locker room and for it to lose it's professionalism. Players not liking each other is common and so is working towards a common goal despite that.

If we are looking for reasons why things aren't going as smooth as last year, I'd start with the remarkable bill of health that vancouver had prior to demko's injury versus the list of key long term absences already compiled this year.

As a Canucks fan it really never ceases to amaze me the new lows our media reaches. The team was playing fine, arguably on the up and up with all of our players coming back from injury, especially Demko and how he had two strong games in a row, and now they had to stir up a whole new drama/controversy right before Christmas. This is sports, these people are professionals, not everyone is gonna get along, what does the media get out of elevating a potential rift, big or small, to such a large spotlight, other than to damage the team and selfishly generate click for themselves? It's absolutely maddening, I hate it so much.

It was reported that he “needed a mental reset” and would be stepping away from the team indefinitely.

If someone is unfit to work for nearly a month because they are not in a good place mentally, one might say they are dealing with an issue of… mental health.

JT Miller ducking the media, instead letting EP have to speak to it, is a real leadership move.

The guy is a loser, locker room cancer. Crazy that the Canucks are catering to him.

Your HC throwing your players under the bus instead of covering for them and handling it in house is certainly an interesting strategy.
HF Boards 101 is the drive bys like this with extremely limited information.

Welcome to the new social media age and it sucks.

Newsflash pretty much every workplace with more than 20 guys has at least 2 people who aren't best friends.

Pettersson makes Mitch Marner look like Ryan Reynolds with the media.

Didn't they just do this with Miller and Horvat?

Just lock em in a room with one pointy stick and see who emerges the victor.
They did.. so they need to do something.. Rutherford is going to do something.
