Well thank goodness this is all behind us now!

That interview, along with his coach and Captain acknowledging there’s a problem, only adds more fuel to the fire

It's unfortunate that they let the media catch wind of this.

We'd all be naive to think in a locker room with 20 plus people that there aren't many more examples of guys not getting along (league wide).

It shouldn't really be news and it's part of the day to day challenges that teams deal with, but now that the media has caught this particular rift, it just adds another layer of crap to deal with.

Clearly Elias is stressed from underperforming this year and has been feeling the heat. He doesn't come across to me as a player who thrives from pressure.

Tocchet seems to have a level headed perspective on the whole thing but this situation would piss me off royally if I was fan of Vancouver. Team seemed to be on the up and up with a lot of key pieces in place. The ole self sabotage.

The Canucks have strong goaltending and a deep forward group, the defense is just Hughes and a bunch of guys who are better suited to be bottom pair or quad A players. That's hurting the team and making a lot of little personal issues bigger things then they would be if the team was winning regularly.

Well we’ve had Boudreau, Tochett and Hughes all confirm there’s an issue so.. yea
On top of that, the biggest insider in the game (Friedman) made this the major story of his Saturday night headlines segment. Don't think he would do that unless he was sure of what he was reporting

It's pretty clearly a major thing and based on Friedman's report it's having an impact on their performance + others in the locker room

JTM and Petey’s going to play some Astrobot on the Playstation together for Christmas. After the comments made by Tocchet, I think this is the “work it out” game plan they’re going to use.

EP seems like an absolute diva. Combined with his disappearing act, that contract is going to age poorly.
Maybe. But it's hard to imagine VAN not taking an L if they trade him, considering his value is at an all-time low right now, between recent performance and cap hit.

Makes me wonder if VAN would be wiser to make the somewhat counter-intuitive move of clearly committing to EP40 instead, trusting that he is a young franchise player going through a rough patch (for whatever reason, speculation, speculation). Perhaps the commitment in spite of all the noise would help him and restore some confidence? :dunno:

So the Captain comes out and admits there's an issue. The Coach too - and says it's part of his job to take care of these matters, and then one of the protagonist has a hissy fit and storms off.

Yep. That pretty much smooths all of that over. Next.

Honestly that particular interview is the fault of Canucks media relations. It is their job to protect players in this situation.

What a disaster.

It's unfortunate that they let the media catch wind of this.

It’s not that they let anything happen. The on ice performance speaks for itself. EP cratered since his extensions and questions will be asked. The media is just going over after the smoke. Of course it’s going to be a topic. The worst part is though is that team can’t even keep the story straight. It’s been going on too long.

Is there any discernible difference in Miller’s game since he’s been back?
A lot less productive

Also he's now back to his pre Tocchet self, lazy defensively, bozo passes here and there

bascially, the usual JT Millers before 23-24

btw, media requested both him and EP last night and only the "soft dive" actually stood out and talked cause Miller rejected. What a leader heh
