That's true in any lockeroom issues between 2 players...you have 2 groups si a simple trade might not wear off

I'm skeptical of this. If the coach felt thus way then why not trade EP instead?
Or the Management showed them they are fed up so no one - except 43- is untouchable so grow up and be a man,get your shit together or we will send you the f*** out of here ……

Without Vancouver’s need for Power/Byram, I don’t think Buffalo is a good fit anymore. Kulich is a guy I can see Vancouver being interested in, but if he’s not available, don’t see a good fit. Columbus, possibly Anaheim, are much better trade partners.

Dude the orginization almost traded Pettersson to Carolina for the 2nd time so im gonna believe in room fracture conspiracy's yes sorry.

Even if Seravalli is a hack. He's just using common sense doesnt even need sources for this one.

That doesn’t mean the players wanted EP traded instead of Miller.

Could just mean they were expecting something that would immediately help the roster more.

And management has already shown they’d consider moving EP if it gives the team a better chance of winning. It doesn’t have to be more than that, as well as another option to end a dispute they couldn’t solve any other way.

It’s fair to speculate, but there’s endless scenarios that could have went down and don’t have to be as fantastical and extreme to create enough unrest to affect on ice performance.

And it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s this long lasting rift in the room.

These guys want to win, so any move that hurts those prospects is going to be a move most didn’t want to see.

Until he proves he can return to 100 point form, and that wasn't just a result of his inflated on ice sh%, I am not really sure how much positive value he really has. His injury history, lack of consistency, and off ice issues are all big red flags for a guy with his AAV.

How far Pettersson has fallen that Sabres fans won't even accept a 1 for 1 swap with Thompson who is older, worse defensively and never been considered as good as Pettersson (until this season).

Really telling.
Pettersson has also seemingly had some sort of locker room issue. Maybe it's not his fault, maybe it is. He also potentially has some sort of lack of motivation. Thompson does not and has been a good soldier even through the Sabres being shit.

Make no mistake, I want EP on the Sabres. I would trade a haul for him. But trading Tage for him is just more wheel spinning. We are are getting rid of our 1C who under performed last year for another 1C with a couple question marks. Where is the incentive to do this other than doing a favour for Vancouver and helping them clean up their locker room?

I think the poster was more just venting frustrating with where Pettersson has fallen in the last year than suggesting the Sabres should do that deal.

Power for Petterson. Maybe add Ostlund or Rosen.
VAN picked up a top 4D. They lose EP and JT #1 and #2 C. They NEED centers. Chytil is a 3rd liner. Deal becomes Cozens+Kulich or 1 of them and assets to flip in a 1st, 2nd and prospect not named Helenius. Doubt they go after another D.

Cozens + Tuch or Peterka

dont want to trade for him maybe swap for Cozens
Cozens has no value at his cap hit, swap?

Sabres fans are wild on here

First i hear Cozens has better value than York (top pair defender, very good both ways)
then i hear Byram is worth two Yorks LMAO
Then Tage > EP
Now Cozzens for EP swap.....

EP is ELITE, he's great at both ends. and he's still very young.

No GM is taking Tage over EP, and i LOVE Tage. JFC, try watching hockey outside of your team.
ya I never watch Vancouver even tho I live here you got me brother. Your hockey opinions from the 22-23 season are so sharp - thank god you’re here to inform us all how good players were 2 years ago.

I'd say at this point Cozens value is certainly diminished significantly probably to the point it makes little sense for Buffalo to move him given what he'd return. Is he worth more than York at this point? Probably not, given York's trajectory is on the rise and Cozens is falling and that's before even factoring in contracts. That said, I think if you're already calling York a top pair two way defender you're getting a little ahead of yourself and potentially carried away with the hype. He's not there yet.
Byram is a significantly better hockey player than York right now, I don't know about "worth 2 Yorks", but I think people in general have been ignorant to how good Byram has been since he's come to Buffalo. He's been quite good and has taken a huge step in his development. I don't think the Tage EP comparision is quite the slam dunk you think it is. EP is the better all around player with the higher ceiling and he's a year younger so that certainly works in his favor, but right or wrong there's concerns about his mental makeup, there's concerns about what his tendinitis has done to his explosiveness as he definitely has looked off in some of my recent viewings of him (I wont pretend to know if this still nags him, but I'm sure Canucks fans have kept better tabs on it than I have). He also comes with an 11.6 million dollar price tag.
Tage makes 7.14 a year which is an absolute bargain of a contract. He looks like he'll easily hit 40+ goals again this season and when he's healthy that's a pretty safe bet for him going forward. He's done this all while playing on straight garbage Sabres teams. There's also zero in the way of off ice distractions and potentially chronic injuries.
This isn't to shit on Pettersson, I'd absolutely jump at the chance to acquire him because 1st line centers with his skill and pedigree rarely become available and Buffalo needs help at Center.
