Everyone thinks Boeser is dealt with next but I want to continue the purge at the top.

Canucks need centers with faceoff skills and no longer require defensemen back.

What's the Sabres deal look like without Byram or Power being included now?

Trading Pettersson essentially kicks in a rebuild no?

You have Hughes, the corpse of Demko, and what else?

Lost your 2C for a worse counter part now you lose your 1C for a worse counter part? Running three 3Cs is not the answer

Prospect wise no forwards except for lekkekimari are looking like impact forwards

I think the team has to stick with Pettersson and hope he can bounce back with miller not around anymore. Also don’t see how you sell Hughes on this being a trade that keeps you competitive as you will only get .75 cents on the dollar with how his play has been and the situation still being fresh.

What the. Why the hell would the Canucks trade him. He's become infinitely more valuable to the Canucks with Miller gone.

Because he's still a huge part of the problem and if were cauterizing the wound I wanna see them do it completely.

Plus the Canucks just got out of one NMC I want to make sure they avoid Petey's in July too.

It would be tough without Power or Byram. I bet Adams won't trade Kulich, and I don't really want to anymore. I don't really believe that we will add EP40.

Cozens, Peterka, Quinn, Krebs, Helenius, Rosen, Ostlund, Wahlberg, picks. Probably 3 assets from this list.

If the rumor is true and VAN players are unhappy that JT was traded over EP then I'm not sure I even want him in BUF, tbh. Sabres don't have the kind of locker room that can absorb an idiosyncratic character at this point.

Maybe they're just unhappy because they traded a good player and not because of Pettersson, that's possible.

JT Miller at 32, is who he is at this point.

EP40 is still a relatively young player who should be given at least until next year to see if he truly intends to be more invested in his off-ice preparation.

While the NMC that kicks in this summer makes that approach risky, if you do end up with “Good EP” again, you’ll have a player more valuable than any return you’d get if you traded him now.

Yeah I understand about the "good EP" and I understand the risks.

Much like Chytil, O'Connor, Pettersson and Mancini for Miller and dumps and scraps, I believe the best path forward is selling another shiny dollar for four more quarters.

This is what I posted yesterday as first trade happened..

We survived this exact same scenario with Bo, with the exact same return as Bo, and we came out fine.

2 years later and only Aatu Raty remains from the original Bo trade yet we got the benefit(?) of Beauvillier, Lafferty, Zadorov in the process.

Then we have Filip Hronek, and Raty still today.

Have some faith.

Enjoy NYR Jt Miller, shame you had to implode.

This is a blessing.

We ditched the 32 yr olds NMC.

Now lets find a way to weaponize the 11.6 man.

Huggy. Will. Understand.

Three hours later we already made our Hronek type deal.

This is what I posted like 3 days ago in a since locked thread..

"Im not worried about Quinn Hughes in July 2028.

In worried about keeping him now. And building an actual contender.

Nils Hoglander
Phil Di Guiseppe
Danton Heinen
Linus Karlsson
Max Sasson
Noah Juulsen
Vinny Desharnais
Derek Forbort
Carson Soucy
Tyler Myers

There's over 10 roster spots already in need of an upgrade on the current roster."

..We just dumped/waived 3 of those guys above and we just pushed Soucy, Forbort and Juulsen all down a peg.

Inagine what we can retool with the 11.6 million dollar man chopped up for 4 more quarters.

Elias Pett not likely being traded but as always usually depends on what's on the table

as for the core of a deal
If value honestly reflects EP = elite - adjustment due to ongoing knee issue
I could see something around
Dobson = superior but not elite b'c could be more solid defensively

in that context, while Barzal is a non starter, I could see Lee/Pageau in such a package

Not sure why they would move EP now if moving Miller solves the locker room issues.

The big question is does he ever live up to his new contract as a consistent driver of play or remain lazy and dejected.

His stats this year don’t justify it. 11.6 million for what averages out to 60 pt player this year. I think Petersson stays in Vancouver.
