The bolded is all of us isn't it? I do find small moments of joy though. I've also only been watching since I was about 8 years old so later 1990s. People who have been watching from 1970 have it much worse.

I dunno. I've been watching since some point in the 80s because I still f***ing love hockey.

You know you're allowed to stop doing things that you don't enjoy anymore, yeah? Like I'm not even trying to be rude - so many folks spend years of their adult lives just making themselves miserable because they just keep playing the character of their past self and doing things that no longer add anything to their lives because its just what they do. "I don't wanna" is an entirely sensible reason to not watch a hockey team anymore.

Question: What is his usual self over the course of his career?

EP40 is not a consistent threat like Mack or McDrai. He is a good player who occasionally goes on heaters. Telling yourself anything else is just you refusing to accept the reality of the player

Hence the frustration with him being paid like them.
That is the big thing with him. Stars in the league, especially as highly paid as he is, have consistency in their games. Petey is a streaky player who hasn't proven that he can bring it to another level when it counts, like the playoffs.

Yeah but we should have traded EP’s ass and keep Zad and Lindholm

We made the right call on letting them walk, but they were both really good for us in the post season. They might not be acclimating well there yet, but they both learned our systems and were effective players. I suspect they'd be doing better here rather than there!

I don't think Z would be doing as well as he did last season, he was specifically looking to get big minutes even though he played his best while being somewhat sheltered. His most frustrating moments came when he tried to do things past his abilities and seems like he's doing that in spades in Boston.
