Pettersson's contract antics and personality type lost him the majority of his good will with this city. When you have franchise level talents like Draisaitl reaffirm the timing template and not drag things into season, it hits the point home further: Franchise players will create drama when they against the traditional expectations of the fans/media/management. And that's the cloud over things right now.
I'm not a fan of this latest report of Tocchet leaving it to the team to motivate him. I hope he breaks out quick because that is not a controlled and streamlined environment for Pettersson specifically.
