Player Discussion Elias Lindholm

Yes I think he could be a 50 point guy on third line like Coyle or 65 -70 with Geekie & Pastrnak

Coyle had more assists in 5 games with the Avs than 5 months with Boston
Funny how playing with actual talent makes marginal players more productive! Who would have imagined that.

He’s not marginal in my world but yes he’s been very good ~ perfect fit

I have a feeling Elias (and the Bruins) will have a much better season for 2025/26

On paper, they should have had more success last year than they did previously but;

-Monty had to be an absolute unprofessional hack and quit on the team

-lindholm got a rare kneecap break

-McAvoy got injured and then got a rare case of MRSA

-Elias wasn’t put where he should be early enough

-we had a coach who’s only ok get thrust into the middle of things

-swayman started the year poor which was exacerbated by Monty’s nonsense and when you couple that with injuries on D and everything else, you get a poor goalie performance

I think the bruins will be a bubble team next year at worst if everyone stays healthy, I say they aren’t as likely to be top 3 in Atlantic only because they did lose a lot of guys and promote kids. So it’s highly dependent on everyone taking another step

But if Sweeney has a good offseason, hires a good coach, and guys like Lysell, Minten, Locmelis, lorhei etc come prepared, they should be a playoff team

I am not a big Lindholm guy and would be thrilled with these numbers but I’d take him everyday over Coyle. Lindholm actually wins faceoffs against better players.

I am of the understanding that the NHL , is addressing the LTIR, where a player is out all season and remarkedly returns for the first game of the playoffs. Why do I get a similar thought when it comes to excuses that I heard all season right out of camp and lasted season, how his wrist hurt, this hurt excuses, excuses, now miraculously, is healed. Umm.:sarcasm:🇺🇸

Im happy for Elias.

I think he really needed this. From everything that was reported, health issues aside, he seems very self-aware and his confidence seemed to take a real hit this year.

Feeling good about him next season.

I’m just curious…

1. Do you believe he injured his back in August?
2. Do you believe his wife gave birth during training camp?
3. Do you believe he broke his finger?
4. Do you believe his game improved as the season progressed?
5. Do you believe his performance at the Worlds is less significant than Pastrnak’s?

I still have faith that he will be better next year.

Unfortunately majority of the team was ass this season so hopefully they go into next season like the team did in 2011 and have shit to prove.

Hopefully a good coaching change is made and they get guys that love to play hockey vs guys just showing up for their shift and doing the bare minimum.

I never knew that he hurt his back in August....that came out later much later
I did know he missed training camp because his wife gave birth,
I did not about his finger, seem to me it came out eventually, and timing of it coming out added to another lame excuse for his season
Definite no that his game improved as the season progressed, he padded his stats riding Geekie and Pastas chemistry, similar to when he played with Gaudreau and Thachuk, the last 10 games of the season
I have no opinion of a meaningless tournament, or what he does there. Hampus Lindholm would be more of interest to me coming off the injury he is trying to comeback from

It’s not meaningless to the people involved or watching

Sacco or Sturm keep that line together he’s 25G/ 65 pts per 82 games

Bottom line it was a terrible signing and was not worth that contract. he will never see those numbers you are putting up there unless he play in the type of competition he is playing now. You are right the tournament is fine to watch, but you cannot base what he is doing now after what he didn't do last season. He was signed at a more reasonable contract I would be saying nothing, he is a fine player, but he is not a first liner, and should have not been paid like one.

7m is not being paid like a first liner anymore, not even close.

7m is exactly what he is when fully healthy, a 2nd line C.

closer to 8mil than 7 mil, and he was brought in to be the #1 C he failed, he is a third liner.

I would take that bet...he is a much better player than you are giving him credit for.
