Player Discussion Elias Lindholm

going to come close to 50 pts on a shit team. Yes it`s garbage time but what I have liked is, like Pasta, Lindholm hasn`t just been floating his way through these last 15 games

I`m expecting him to post 50-60 pts next year, rather 60-70 but I still envision a team lacking depth where opponents can focus on the top two lines and little else

It would solve a lot of problems if Lindholm goes into next season healthy and playing the way he is now with Pasta.

Zacha -- Lindholm -- Pasta

Mittlestadt -- Zacha -- Geekie

I just don't know if more of the same is the right answer. I like a lot of what Mittlestadt brings but I would want an impact forward at that 2nd line LW spot to really feel comfortable about the top 6. And of course proof that Lindholm is back to being a productive player. Realistically, I think the Bruins are two top 6 players away from being contenders again and they will have to come via free agency or trade.

Why are you separating Geekie and Pasta, don't get fooled with Lindholm with Pasta, did not work earlier in the year, and the chemistry is between Geekie and Pasta.

To create balance and have two goal scorers on two lines instead of just throwing all the best on one.

Zacha's going to get tired quick

You also want to make sure you take care of your most important asset so that you get the most out of him, that asset being Pasta. Every star as support.

Folks the Captain likes to play with Geekie

Do NOT mess with his happiness

He also liked playing with Krejci but that rarely happened. He also liked liked playing with Marchand ( gone ) and Zacha ( currently separated ). Pasta will be fine whoever he's on the same line with.

He did not play with Krecji, because he played with Bergey and Marchand.

He has 43 now in what has been a brutal offensive season for him overall. I don't think over 60 would be off the mark at all.

Still not a fan. Would vote him off the island if I could.

60 points is crazy talk. He has 26 even strength points. He's been force fed 1st PP and top minutes all year and he's on track for his second consecutive 40 point season.
He has hit 60 three times in his career what makes anyone think all of a sudden next year at 31 he is going to start hitting 60. He should have been taken off the PP, long time ago. Don't hate the player but to many around here overate him, and Sweeney the most by giving him that contract.

But we are talking about who he likes playing with and his happiness. He was best friends with Krejci and talked in length how he's really missed. He also said the same about Krug. Players come and players go. Players get put on different lines for roster reasons. Pasta knows this. Not playing on the same line as Geekie isn't going to effect Pasta in the slightest.

What I want to know is if Geekie can reproduce what he's doing without Pasta and who can Pasta turn into the next 50-60 point player. If Geekie hits 20/25 goals next year from line 2 and Pasta turns another player into a viable threat to score, then that's a win.

He's a 40-45 point 3rd line center going forward. Is what it is. He's not top 6 anymore on a good team. Hopefully Donny doesn't need to attach a 1st to get rid of his contract. Wouldn't be surprised if he's bought out in a couple years.

I’d like to see the unedited behind the B round table discussion on what they thought they were getting with Lindholm and who was driving the bus to sign him.

Reports said they had been pursuing him via trade for a while so they had been watching him for some time and definitely saw something that wasn’t there

55 point pace since 4 Nations. 49 point pace over his last half season. He has been a disappointment, but I don't think him coming in here next year and getting 60 points is bananas either.

He has had 2 terrific years in career, and one other season that he had sixty points, he is getting older and other than those three years he never sniffed sixty points and doubt he ever does again. Good player, an overrated player and certainly an overpaid player.

I have no idea where this friends B.S. comes from, I get some of it but that is not how lines are put together. Management needs to do well in the draft, look at all trade possibilities, and scour free agency, and hope whatever road they and I would not rule out any options, but it is a must they hit on something, to make this team competitive again.

One of those sub-60 seasons was the Covid short year, where had 47 pts in 56 games. I'll say it again, the guy has 43 points and for most of the season was rubbish offensively. He's turned it around a little bit of late. If the player that we have today is the guy we get next season, it is definitely not bananas to think he could see 15-20 point improvement over this year. If he doesn't, he doesn't, but I'd rather he did!

I will say it again, he is not worth that contract.
