Adding Coronato makes no sense. If Lindholm is shipped out, it will mark a bit of a retool period as the team will not be competitive with Kadri and a 35 year old backlund who will also be a UFA down the middle.

Return must include a young C with quality top 6 potential in my mind. The adds would depend how quality that potential is.

I don't think Newhook is ever going to be much but maybe a fresh start would be good for him. Sillinger would be interesting.

What would the flames be looking for if he doesn't sign and walks to UFA?

Considering the 2023 draft > 2024 the ideal time to trade him would be at the draft with his closest comparable being bo horvat. Roster player + prospect + first?

I'll start from the avs. Girard + Newhook + 27 overall.
For sure a guy who not return value drop on market. What Calgary really need ? Cleared cap space and with Girard they don't save anything.
They probably need a forward more than a Left Defence.
I don't see a fit there because Colorado don't have enough forward under contract to trade

How about Bratt + ( Sharangovich?/ Foote /?)
It’s too hard as both teams would have to know if each player will extend . If both players agree to extend on the respective new teams then maybe ?
Devils would use him at wing or is he better suited to stay at C ?
What would the add have to be from NJ ?
Or would the Flames prefer picks and high end prospects ?

Don't see the Flames trading Coronato but shine already off of Kyrou? Dump would have to Coleman or Kadri

That is spicy to consider. Depends largely on what each player is willing to sign for I think.

Your choice of #22 or ‘24 1st

For Lindholm with an extension
Honestly not a bad idea for either team IMO. I’m taking the 24 first though, even though I love this draft.

I like this idea but it would obviously contingent on both players signing a deal.
Don't see Lindholm returning Necas
he’s a Selke candidate caliber C. He had just as much impact on our team as Tkachuk did in 21/22.

Don't see Lindholm returning Necas
I heard a rumor that Carolina was trying hard to acquire Lindholm at the deadline. Timing wasn't right for CGY.

I'd like to see Necas in part of any package for Lindholm.

Also, Lindholm may have some hard feelings towards Carolina as he was a little underutilized and traded by them, but that's for him to know and me to ponder.
Part of the package?

Necas is 23 and just scored 71 points, and has a cap hit of $3M, after which he is a RFA.

his trade value is higher than Lindholm.

the time to trade for Necas was last year. That ship has now sailed.

I imagine the bruins would push every chip we have left in if Lindholm becomes available. Something like Lysell + Poitras + 2025 1st if he comes with an extension is probably the best we can offer, which probably doesn't get it done but is at least an honest effort.

Boston already has huge cap issues.

The OP's offer is barely on par with what 30 games of Hrovat returned, this is a full season and a better player
Barely on par? I'm sorry, what 24 year old Top 4 Dman signed for 4 more years on a team friendly contract did Vancouver get for Horvat, remind me on that one again?

Horvat went for a 1st, a B prospect, and a borderline cap dump. No Under 25 Top 4 Dman involved.

Borderline cap dump? Is that what we call 25 year old 35-40 point middle 6 2-way wingers these days? Talk about homer goggles. Girard has been very mediocre at best the last few years as well. He's a bonafide 2nd pair defensman, not good enough to be a 1st pair guy but not bad enough to be a 3rd guy. 5M is probably more on the expensive end for what he provides as a player. (Also Girard is not under 25, he is 25)

Horvat went for what was at the time ~13th OA (now 17th), a young prospect with very high potential, and a middle of the lineup 4M player. It is probably at minimum fair to say Raty is at least worth Colorado's 27th OA pick and then Newhook could be called worth 17th OA (if anything thats more of a stretch considering what Dach went for last year).

So with that cleared up yes they offer is barely on par with what 30 games of Horvat returned

Does Bratt only play LW?
Either wing but mainly LW.
I love Bratt and do NOT want to lose him but he ( and/ or his agent ) has been a huge pain in the ass every contract negotiation. I can see Fitz just saying screw it , we offered you multiple different structured contracts and if you want something else , we have no choice but to trade you.
Bratt says he wants to stay in NJ but 95% of players say the similar thing just before they walk to UFA and go elsewhere.
I think Lindholm could be a massive addition to the Devils . Very good two-way player with skill .
Does Lindholm prefer C or wing ?
What is a ballpark figure for his next contract ?

I think he's more valuable at C. You lose the faceoffs and the 2 way game is less effective from the wing. I think he's 8M X 6 years ish on his next deal.

I like Bratt. He'd be a great fit in Calgary. Mikael Backlund is our best play driving guy. Love Backlund, but he can't be your best play driver. Bratt is really good through the neutral zone. We need a guy like that.
