It’s just hard to debate someone who’s right. I don’t hold it against you though, it happens.
Well let’s just quote this just in case you are wrong and I can come back and remind you of your unmatched brilliance.

Also I would pay just to see the oiler fans reactions. That would crash the boards here so hard it would never recover

Cool. And if you are going to do that, can I right now quote all the 5000 times Leaf’s fans were wrong about McDavid not extending for max term or asking for a trade? Cause I can do that now if you want, we won’t even have to wait.

Yes you do seem like someone that has nothing better to do. So please go ahead.

That would be great for hockey and create a ton of hype but NHL players are so boring and conservative he will get his deal before that
Yes, McDavid should risk $120m so that people on a random forum and social media can be mildly entertained. Sounds like a great idea!

You don’t think he dreamt of lifting a cup as a leaf as a kid? There’s only one team he had in mind. I would say there’s a great chance he’s an oiler for life but the door is open a crack.

I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a victory lap with Toronto, but I don't think there's much of a sliver for him leaving prior to this next contract given that Drai already resigned. The only chance would be if they win this year and he considers Edmonton-mission-accomplished. If they win this year, I'd say maybe there is a chance he gets traded this summer (since otherwise they will certainly sign him)

I would say that current friendships... guys he literally loves... real people, real teammates... would trump childhood nostalgia pretty easily. This is a close team.

This team has been knocking at the door for three years, it hasn't been their turn yet, but I don't see McD leaving until he's taken a couple more cracks with this group. Maybe then, if the environment changes he could orchestrate his own trade.
