That said... as deep as this forward group appears to be now, it might be even better as our high end prospects like Rutger start pushing guys down the line up
It's close to pointless to discuss it this early on, but after playing around with the numbers, it should be relatively painless to keep Ehlers in UFA 2025. We will need to commit to our forward prospects to replace guys like Iafallo and Appleton, but that is why we've drafted them anyway.
We might have to make a decision between going long-term with Perfetti and addressing the right side of the defense, but other than that, I see absolutely no cap-related issues with keeping Nik. The offense will be f***ing stacked either way, it's just the defense that could look very different from what it is today. If we were able to run close to the cap ceiling, you could reasonably get a good 2RHD
and give Perfetti 8x8 or something like that.
Hopefully Nino continues to elevate his linemates. Can't get much more value than that for 4 million of cap space.
