Wow FX? Didn't know they had hockey up here

yeah, I have no idea what that channel typically carries, don`t have it, probably one of those channels where you have to subscribe to a block of a dozen other garbagio one`s just to get it

Appears as though I missed little last night

I`m typically not a panic guy and that doesn`t change now even with this uninspired start

I try to look at the positive and right now, that`s the fact the B`s are exactly 4pts outta first to keep er in perspective:laugh:

I love my Bruins, just not enough for them, or their results to cause me to lose a wink of sleep, win or lose

Me too, I'm just happy hockey is back so win or lose no big deal. Everyone is different though.

Stars are 0-1-1 and Seguin has zero points. Omg quick panic in Dallas!

naaaa, it's too early across the board for anyone to panic. Taylor Hall also has no points (which my pool team hates btw). Btw I hate the 4-0 loss, but another guy I'm happy for is Trotz. Good dude. I wish him plenty of regular season success, and no playoff success against us ;)

Of course he won't continue at this pace.

It isn't futile to discuss what you think is a major mistake by your GM. Letting him play the season to maximize your chance to win the Cup even if he walks for nothing is not a mistake. NO ONE on this board ripped Chiarelli for letting Ference and Horton play out their contracts. And it was worth it. 14 playoff wins proves it was worth it.

Mike, why is it that anytime somebody doesn't want to think about this for half a second, you make it your job to come in and remind them of it? We get it, dissent is legit, discussion is crucial, and just as "it isn't futile to discuss what you think is a major mistake by your GM," it's not futile to not want to discuss it.

Why is anyone surprised? This team just isn't that great. Not a shock at all tbh. They obviously aren't this bad, but for those that paint a rosy picture their ceiling is no where as high as you think ... Chia will hopefully correct his mistakes

It's weird, I really could swear that a lot of people wanted to give Horton pretty big money to stay here, and were mad at Chia for letting him walk. Awfully quiet about that around here now that Horton is a useless in and out the lineup cap drain....

I was at a Halloween party last night. Saw the score by mistake, but still decided to watch this morning. Made it through the first 3 goals and shut it off.

Gross.

They'll be fine, though.

It's a rough patch, not one you felt sliding your hand over either...

...no, you saw this one from 200' away, and it's ugly.

No reason to believe it cannot be smoothed out though.

Funny , looking for silver linings already 3 games in. Chia wanted to sign Horton as well, so if you're going to rag on fans, rag on him too. He couldn't meet the price...trust me if he could he would have....do t really remember anyone still complaining after Nates terms were announced.

Per Sam Carchidi of the Broad Steet Bullies blog, the Bruins are expected to offer Simon Gagne a contract in the next few days.

I'm probably the only one who's a little excited to see what he's got left in the tank.

He's a far better fit for this team than Spooner or Fraser.

Also, the overreaction in this and the GDT is well beyond obnoxious. Fire Claude takes the cake.

We've started off fairly slow the last few years and managed to do just fine. 3 games in and people are diving head first off a shallow pier. Relax.

This roster is different than the ones that started slow but managed to do just fine. They do not have a top line RW, the defense is weaker, and we now have seen what it looks like if Krejci misses some time. The GM admitted to making the team worse by trading Boychuk. I can't wait to see how/when Chiarelli picks up a top 6 RW, or if we will just be reading Fluto articles all season about how deals didn't come together. Some of us are diving head first off a shallow pier, and the rest are diving in after trying to get them to calm down.

Who cares? I don't follow the stars, and them sucking does nothing to make me feel better about the Bruins looking like a pretender.

It's all grinder, no finish. Last year, the defense covered up for some of the lack of finish up front. This year, the defense isn't scoring, so the lack of elite scoring up front is being exposed. Fully expected it, tbh. This team just isn't that good. Even if they got Krejci back healthy, he's less than a PPG. So they'd have maybe another 2 goals for the season, which doesn't move the needle.

Nope. Krug and Chara did though. Don't see them scoring now, do you? If you have a lack of scoring power up front, it needs to come from somewhere. Last year it was their defense. This year, it's nowhere...

"This year" is 3 games in. Clearly Krug and Chara are doomed to never score again.

Not to mention a bunch of Chara's goals weren't even scored as a D-Man but upfront on the PP.

Last night they had some good pressure. They played better than in Detroit. If they continue to get better, I think they'll be fine. I know there are no results right now but you got to admit that it's only been three games.

Sure, but again, nobody on the team is scoring. Even when Chara and Krug start hitting the back of the net, do you have much faith in the forwards to consistently light the lamp? I don't see it.

3 goals in 3 games. That's good for second to last in the league right now. I don't care if they looked slightly better last night with some pressure. They looked like crap for most of that game, until the third period. By that point they were out of it and weren't coming back. Even if it had been a one goal lead, they have nobody who can finish.

With Krejci back, they are a 25-30 goal scorer short to replace Iginla on that top line. I don't see a President's trophy esque regular season by any means without that piece on the roster, but realistically all they have to do is make the playoffs as there's no bye weeks like in the NFL and home ice advantage in hockey means about as little as any home ice/court/field advantage in sports (except maybe baseball). Whether they have a realistic shot to compete for the Cup will depend on whether Chiarelli can find that player by the deadline.

I have my concerns about whether he'll be able to as well, but it's not worth freaking out over until the deadline passes without that piece on the Bruins roster. Unless people are actually worried about us making the playoffs, which I don't get at all. We've had some real ugly offenses for about 2 years (first year and Flyers collapse year) in this Chiarelli/Claude era, and still made the playoffs pretty easily due to our ability to keep the puck out of our net. Don't see why this year would be any different.

The Seguinistas and Bergeronistas will now understand why Chiarelli opted to pay his #1 center instead of trading him.
