EGDT - Colorado vs Xenforo Flames

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

We've heard guys who get traded here saying it takes some time to get used to playing for the Avs, especially Manson when he arrived said it took him a while.

I don't doubt it's difficult for Nelson to switch from 12/13 years playing for the Islanders to now playing for the Avs.
Of all the players added to past few years, I think Necas is the only one who really "hit the ground running." Everyone else seems to take 5-10 games before they start fitting in.

Worst case scenario, if Nelson can’t produce on the 2nd line, we can put Coyle there I guess

I think Nelson will be fine eventually. Avs don't exactly have the luxury of time so hopefully sooner rather than later.

Coyle is so good partly because of the role. He's now his is correct role of a 3C. You bump him up to 2C and it's the same problem he had in Boston and the one the Avs have had in every season that doesn't include Kadri.

On paper the Drouin - Nelson - Nuke line is perfect and it worked perfectly for their first game. But they had 1 great game followed by 3 very bad ones.

I really wonder why it happened and if time will fix it. I really hope so.

Also PP1 was finally good (after weeks/months of misery) until Bednar for no apparent reason decided to replace Drouin with Nelson.
Feels to me like Nelson was playing on instinct in that first game vs Toronto but is now learning the system which as we've seen with most players takes anywhere between 10 and 20 games to get used to.

In any case, I hope the team has saved up the energy for Sunday - I'm expecting A WAR.

Yeah, I got the same feeling about Nelson. He looks like he’s overthinking the game rather than just playing like he knows how. He has pinged a bunch of posts so I think we just need to be patient.
