Edvinsson is not yet to the point of having outstanding decision making at ANY speed, so I don't see how you can both assume he would have nothing to work on at AHL speed and assume there he's far enough along to reasonably be able to figure it out at NHL speed.Good luck forcing much of anything in the AHL when he was already top 4 in preseason. They don't want him up. They aren't correct in doing so, but I doubt his play in the AHL will be changing anything.
He has a superb set of skills, but is less mentally prepared for NHL hockey than any Red Wings defenseman not named Oesterle. Give the kid the time he needs for his brain to only be one step behind his body instead of three steps, and then he can finish learning against the big boys.
