Pre-Game Talk: Edmonton vs Vegas

Wow these guys are little bitches. They reported it as their sources and now that it might be wrong they're passing the buck lol.

Didn't they also report that Holloway and Broberg were signing extensions last summer too? Everyone thinks they are an "insider"
Ohhhhh shocking all of the fake news was just that.....FAKE!

PK Subban is such a yuppie. Saw that he warned McDavid that Vegas' defense is 'built for this moment'. lol.

Funny how they frame their original post as if they have some sort of inside information but when challenged they shift to stating they are merely repeating what some mysterious JM said.

Proper reporting would have been to have said JM reports Smilin’ Stu is said to be starting Game 1 but they want to look like Insiderrrrrzzzzz - until they are wrong.

Hilarious clown show.

Now that we fans can breathe a bit better about Game 1s. Might it be a good time to point out that under Knoblach they are now 3-3 in Game 1s. Considering all but 1 were on the road, not bad.

Now what do we say about his 1-4 record in Game 2s?

You know they're gonna give Skinner a shot at some point, if only to see what we get in case he has to jump in due to injury. You saw that nastiness with Stolarz, anything can happen.

So I guess Game Two has the lightest exposure, in their barn, with home ice advantage already stolen win or lose.

I'd give him the first period as a show-me, we know we can come back on Vegas and we know they're gonna come out with a lot to prove. Sink or swim.

There is something about an untimely goal that can drain the mood and deplete the atmosphere, I think the Oilers with Skinner in net are terrible when it comes to this. Too many games where the other team scores early, scores shortly after we just scored, or just lets in plain bad goals that should not be happening in the NHL. This also leads to the opposing team to score in bunches when everyone is deflated.

Whenever I see a picture of Pickard I am surprised to see how athletic the dude actually is. He is not positionally sound, maybe even technically flawed compared to Skinner, but he does have that compete in him. So he does let in some weaker goals but he also makes HERO saves that the Oilers can build momentum on and a good save is like a hard hit or a fight, it gets the people going.

That's just not how things work in the NHL playoffs. Zero chance Skinner comes in until Pickard blows minimum two games at this point. They'll keep saying they're considering it, but they're not going to mess with what's working.

I think Skinner lost the net when he laughed in LA game 2. It's not based on anything I've heard, but I think the bench saw it and was pissed, I really don't think pulling him with ten minutes left in the third made sense otherwise. They would've pulled him after a goal if performance was the issue.

I will say though, Pickard hasn't exactly shut the door after Oiler goals either. Plenty of quick responses by LA in round 1.

I think we just have to hold on for the ride, and hope that Pickard can stay around .900% for the duration of the playoffs. I think if he has any advantage over Skinner, it's hopefully that his game is more consistent than Skinner's. If the team thinks that if they play their best game, they will win the game, that's probably the best we can hope for at this point. I don't think they believe that with Skinner right now, whereas I think they did last year.

Yeah zero chance that happens. You don't experiment in the playoffs lol you focus on the task at hand and cross bridges as they come
Sparks turn into fires quickly in the playoffs, and you don't want to give them any sort of spark

Teen burgers are on for 5 bucks. Doesn’t seem like that long ago the special was 2 for 5. I guess 5 bucks is a deal now.

$5 footlongs at Subway now $15

The best part is you can spend that at Farrow's and get an infinitely better sandwich. Spend a little more at Pal's and get home fries / chips with it instead
